Dear John, It was such a pleasure meeting you at the conference and hearing your story. As a caregiver (my brother has CP) I was moved beyond words. As an aspiring MSL, I was inspired. I truly hope our paths cross again.
Finally I am humbled to have met John Baumann, a Parkinson’s patient who shared his life story and what it means to live every day to its fullest - staying healthy, practicing gratitude and embracing humour. He reminded us why we do what we do, and the difference we can all make in educating and serving our customers and patients.
John’s poignant, real world view of the patient experience with Parkinson’s was absolutely amazing and memorable! He touched our hearts as researchers, clinicians and medical teams focused every day on educating physicians and clinical staff about the latest data and scientific knowledge to guide optimal treatment decisions for patients. We were truly honored and blessed to have him teach us with words of wisdom, humor and integrity why we need to push forward each day to evolve new ideas and research to approved medicines that not only ease pain and reduce disability but one day lead to a cure. Thank you, John! Your honest insights made our conference kick start with such energy and empathy! We - as MSLs and Medical Affairs leaders - will always put patients first in all we do!
