REVIEWING A DECADE-OLD CAMPAIGN (2013-2023)

In a world dominated by powerful institutions and influential persons, it is rare to find an ordinary individual who can make a lasting impact on a global scale. Yet, against all odds, a decade ago, a common man, that’s me, raised the slogan ‘Reform Religions’, led by a one-man army, armed with a laptop as a weapon, and social media as the platform of action.?

In India, an amazing Vedic tradition prevails, which enables us to experience the fullness of life from birth to death, known as the ‘Four Ashrams of life’. The ‘Third’ ashram ‘Vanaprastha’ is the source of my inspiration. The third ashram starts, when a person retires and takes up spiritual matters and dispel false beliefs predominant in his time, if any, with spiritual wisdom, aiming to prevent the distortion of religion.

This is a voluntary service rendered by the elders of the society or by the retired people to ensure that the errors of misinterpretations of the Holy Scriptures, which quite often, creep into faith, with the passage of time, are corrected and updated, by the senior citizens, as a social responsibility.

Following the suggested social obligation, without any personal agenda, except a passion to spot the slip-ups and propose remedial measures for change, with a heart full of compassion, I took the first step by launching websites in the year 2013. The demands raised by me obviously face numerous challenges. However, with resilience and unwavering determination, I continue to persist in addressing some of the world's most pressing issues.

Change is not in the hands of the person who is suggesting change. Change happens when each person decides to accept change at a personal level, only then, the social order, with a collective will of the people, can trigger change.?

So, a decade ago, I set out to propose reforms, reminding that each one of us, possesses the potential to be a catalyst for change. I made a call to action, for each one of us, to find the purpose, no matter how small it may seem, and work together, to make the world better for all, and for the future generation too.

Since then, a lot of water has flowed. Now, for sure, things are not the same, as they were ten years before. The change is visible.??

On the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the campaign.

?

I humbly concede that the journey ahead is long and challenging. Hence, I urge people to consider their position on global problems and support the campaign. Our aim is to create massive public awareness and let people decide for themselves, the path, they wish to follow.

Eventually, truth triumphs, providing hope for a transformation, in the coming years. The seed has been sown, it will grow into a tree, and blossom when the right time comes. I see no reason to defer or delay. Consequently, I would like to reiterate my stand once again, to garner wholehearted public support, in much greater numbers, to make the revelations a reality.

[1] REFORM RELIGIONS

We have been seeking reforms in religions that respect universal spiritual values while adapting to the challenges of the modern digital world.

We have raised the issue to ‘Reform Religions’ for the reason that we believe spirituality should evolve along with our changing social order, addressing contemporary issues with thoughtfulness. Our approach is rooted in preserving the core spiritual tenets of various religious traditions while embracing diversity and encouraging critical thinking.

We understand that times change, and so do the needs of the followers of all religions. The demand to Reform Religions examines and reinterprets ancient Holy Books, scriptures, customs, and beliefs, ensuring they remain relevant and applicable to our lives today.

We are comfortable with everyone, regardless of their background, gender, race, nationality, or sexual orientation. Acceptance of diversity is not just a value for us; it's a fundamental principle that guides us.

We encourage questioning and curiosity. Faith is not about blind acceptance but rather a journey of exploration and personal growth. We provide a space for open dialogue and discussion, where minds are stimulated and ideas are exchanged.

Reform Religions is a call to action, for taking a stand, on issues of social justice, advocating for equality, compassion, and a better world for all. Finding like-minded individuals who share their beliefs and values is crucial. Besides community support, connection, and a sense of belonging is also essential.

While respecting the collective heritage of our faiths, we acknowledge that spirituality is a personal journey. Religious reforms will empower individuals to forge their own unique spiritual path, finding a deeper meaning and purpose.

Imagine a place where the walls that divide us crumble, replaced by empathy, compassion, and shared humanity, where unity and understanding reign supreme, a concept we envision as – ‘A Religionless World’. In this extraordinary ideal state, we will longer define ourselves by the religious dogmas that separate us, but by the universal spiritual values that unite us.

In a religionless world, individual beliefs will be celebrated and respected, nurturing an atmosphere of inclusivity and open-mindedness. People will be free to explore spirituality on their own terms, unburdened by the weight of rigid religious doctrines. This newfound freedom allows for personal growth, as we learn from each other's diverse perspectives and enrich our own understanding of life's profound mysteries.

The absence of religious strife eradicates a major source of conflict, leading to unprecedented global harmony. By now the world is tired of conventional religious dogma and wants a more profound and personal connection with the universe. Spirituality is the proposed universal faith of the 21st century, where medieval-age understanding meets the digital-age perception, and individuals are free to explore the depths of their inner being, without boundaries or restrictions or beliefs forced upon them.

Spirituality is the new age religion. It is an invitation to all, on an awe-inspiring journey of self-discovery and enlightenment. It grips a harmonious blend of diverse traditions, practices, and philosophies from all corners of the world, allowing the adherent to tap into the infinite wellspring of their inner being.

[4] STRICT LAWS AGAINST THE GODMEN

In a quest for a safer, more enlightened society, it is time to take a decisive stand against the exploitation and manipulation perpetuated by self-proclaimed ‘Godmen.’ These individuals wield immense influence over vulnerable followers, often leading to grievous consequences. To safeguard the well-being of our citizens and protect them from deceptive practices, it is imperative to introduce strict laws against the godmen.

These laws will serve as a shield against the rising tide of unscrupulous spiritual leaders who prey upon people's faith and trust. By mandating thorough background checks and registration processes for spiritual leaders, we can weed out charlatans and ensure that only qualified, genuine, and ethical practitioners guide spiritual seekers.

Moreover, the proposed laws will enable authorities to closely monitor religious organizations and curb any potential financial misappropriation or abuse of power. Transparent financial reporting and strict accountability mechanisms will ensure there is no tax violation, and the massive funds collected in the name of spirituality are put to use for genuine charitable and welfare activities, benefitting the masses instead of lining the pockets of a few deceitful individuals.

Psychological evaluations and counseling services will be required for individuals exhibiting signs of psychological distress resulting from blind adherence to manipulative ‘Godmen.’
