Review Adapt of Tim Hardford
First book read this year.
This book is about the idea of how complicated systems are; the environment in which we live, the relationships and connections that exist in our world, part of the idea of how difficult it is for a human being to build something by himself, for example: a toaster, have you ever thought about time, the resources and the necessary materials that constitute it by itself, the copper extracted from the mines, the chips and even the plastic covering? Now we have to transfer this to banks, to countries at war and even to companies like Google.
Something that is mentioned, deals with throughout the book and that seemed very important to highlight, the principle of Palchinsky; which is summarized in three essential points:
- Find new ideas and try new things.
- When you try something new, do it on a scale such that failure can be survived.
- Seek feedback and learn from mistakes.
?
This is applicable to cases such as banking, war or companies and we can observe it throughout the book, it is a great book, which in addition to knowing interesting facts or things from the past so implausible, which changed the course of history, you can take advantage of and learn new and useful things that can be applied in no time.
