Welcome to the 49th issue of the newsletter, “Journal of discoveries.” Each week, I check a list of hundreds of sources of inspiration to spot exciting articles, videos, podcasts, and books on personal development, leadership, management, technology, and innovation.

Let’s dive in!

One “must read” for this week

Reversible and irreversible decisions.

Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon.com, considers decisions like doors. He asks himself if the decision is a one-way door or a two-way door. What’s the difference?

Once you walk through a one-way door, you can’t come back. It’s irreversible. With a two-way door, on the other hand, you can walk through, look around, and easily come back to where you started.

Wow! Such an inspiring thought. Food for thoughts... Working on the ?undoability? of decisions in a company = increasing speed and flexibility. Thanks, Roberto.

At school I had an art teacher who taught us how to draw characters. Later we were allowed to draw lines with pencil and apply Gothic letters in between with the ink pen. Covering writing errors with opaque white resulted in deductions in the evaluation. Later, during our internship in the graphics department at the trade show, we scraped away ink and color pigments with a scalpel. Sometimes removing overlong lines, sometimes creating space for highlights.
