Reversed Learning: How AI is Transforming My Way of Working

With over 15 years in the creative industry as a UI and graphic designer, I’ve seen tools and tech evolve and reshape the way we work. But nothing has shaken up my daily grind quite like artificial intelligence (AI). This isn’t just about automation; AI is flipping the script on how I think and work, leading to a fascinating concept I call "reversed learning."

The AI Revolution: More Than Automation

Generative AI (GenAI) is a machine learning mechanism that interacts with a vast amount of data inputs across the digital landscape. The fun part is that while AI continuously learns from these inputs, I, too, am in a constant learning process. Here lies the plot twist:

"AI is teaching me how to reduce emotional involvement in work situations and think more practically about problem-solving."

Consider this: when I give a challenging question to an AI like ChatGPT , I might think, "This is a tough one. I don't think it will get it right." But then ChatGPT responds, "Sure thing, here is what you need!" This experience not only saves time but also teaches me a valuable lesson about efficiency and practicality.

The Power of "Sure Thing"

Have you ever thought about how much time you can save by ensuring a "sure thing"? It's not just about having a robotic assistant to complete tasks. It's about understanding the importance of clarity, precision, and knowing how to ask for the right information. AI can prompt me to seek additional information when needed, recognise when something is beyond my working protocol or personal values, and handle situations that require immediate action without emotional attachment.

Lessons I've Learned from AI

1. Efficiency and Practicality: AI encourages me to think more practically about my work. By removing emotional biases, I can focus on what needs to be done efficiently and effectively.
