Reversed Disruption...

Reversed Disruption...

Sometimes, I wonder if progress only brings positive changes. We are all looking for the next best thing- that new phone, new car and new technology… Sometimes, so swept up in all this we forget the human element.

The recruitment industry, amongst many, has been widely affected by new technology and innovation. But was it all in good faith?

According to some researchers, only 20% of CVs are being read by a human being. Don’t get me wrong, algorithms and efficient database filtering services certainly make things more efficient, but how can you put a number on somebody’s core values, principles, culture or emotional intelligence?

CVs are being filtered by keyword searches and candidates are found on a “best match” basis reducing some of the recruitment agencies to order pickers/number finders basis.

At Victor Jefferson we recruit “old school”.

First and foremost we build relationships, nurturing them and working on personal level to place our candidate, our friend and colleague, in the best job for them, their family and their life goals.

Culture, core values, aspirations trump key word matches. Every. Single. Time.

Dreams of the next great job pave our daily existence.

It is time we said NO to this innovation. We rebel and live by our reversed disruption. And guess what? We are doing just fine.

But most importantly, so are YOU. Our candidates. Our clients. Our business family.

Indeed, people are rather allergic to speaking to people. It is very easy to hide behind technology, but not necessarily beneficial... Social networks are making very unsociable...

We live in email and messaging culture just look how difficult it is to find out who the decision makers are yet so easy to connect on LinkedIn etc yet you try and call someone and talk and they go to pieces, people are simply not used to chatting, they feel compromised that they may be sold too

Back to simplicity, the business arena is too computerised it will go full circle again, stick to simplicity and get back to basics the fitness industry is the same all new things now it's online coaching, what happened to good old fashioned talking and making an informed decision, sadly we let computers make our daily decisions for us.....
