Reverse Mentoring, Black Business Month, and Feed Mythbusting

Anyone can be a mentor or be mentored, but what does it mean to be reverse mentored? In this issue we're focused on what it means to be a mentor while celebrating Black Business Month in the US. We'll also be showing off new templates that make posting visually compelling content on LinkedIn a breeze and taking steps to demystify the Feed for you.

Reverse Mentoring

In Germany we decided to try letting the executives learn a thing or two from young professionals with a?#ReverseMentoring?program. In this program we connect career starters with senior leaders, founders and CEOs. People of all ages have unique experiences and knowledge that they can share, and this was a great opportunity for young professionals to demonstrate that knowledge. It's critical that leaders create avenues to learn from people early in their careers in order for their organizations to grow, innovate and and attract future talent.

Demystifying the Feed

Our team working on the Feed – a close collaboration of product managers, engineers, researchers, data scientists, and designers, among many others – constantly reviews, assesses, and updates the LinkedIn experience to help and empower our members to be more productive and successful in their professional journey. To drive further transparency and understanding, we recently launched the?second edition?of our?#MythBustingTheFeed blog series, where we provide insight into how our Feed works, share how to tailor your Feed to include conversations that matter to you, and address common myths and misconceptions around the Feed.

Black Business Month

August is Black Business Month and while Black entrepreneurs are launching innovative startups and running remarkable companies, many lack the access to a strong network, mentors and advisors who are critical as they help foster growth and create a community of support and development. In fact, 58% of Black business owners in the US believe they would be more successful if they had a stronger network.

Understanding, engaging and supporting Black professionals and businesses is key to LinkedIn's mission. That is why we offer several tools and resources to help all business owners build partnerships, drive revenue, find community, build networks and grow their professional brand. Creator Mode has continued to grow in popularity on LinkedIn since its launch last year. We’ve seen a 20% YoY increase in people adding visual content to posts, and want to help people make it easier for creators to make their content engaging.

If you want an easy way for text posts to stand out in the Feed and grab your audience’s attention, we’ve built templates just for you.?
