The revenge of the real
I feel stuck with the "data" concept that has been poured down from our throats. Sometimes, I cannot breathe. There are almost the same ideas with different headlines and resources all over the place. Yes, we are living in turbulent times of data transformation. Yes, the exponential growth of technologies is immersive and disruptive. And yes, we can only manage if we measure! Data awareness is a need. Data itself is a commodity. Mastering data is priceless. However, I am overwhelmed by the repetitive footage. This will not be another article full of the same stories and ChatGPT.
Let's go ahead and break it.
It may be the start of the World's first Trade War since 1945. And it is on the technological capacity of the nations. The ones who design, dare to build and manufacture at home now. There will be years of infrastructure investments in major economies and a race to homerun tech industries. I believe this is the first time we have observed such a profound change in the global World Order. It is the end game of the 90s.
Sorry, globalisation is death.
I am also very sorry if you are buying chips that other nations are manufacturing. You may be subject to the quality of the zone you trade with. So does the quality of your data processing.
It is a very much similar story on the software side.
Plus, we are drawn into an ocean of SaaS products, almost in every corner. I am not saying they are useless. Of course, they offer value for a large number of user profiles. However, I need help with the choices. I mostly find myself coping with the software discoveries rather than carrying the job to be done. I would be thrilled with a couple of options for my workflows and bang it.
Since the cost of capital soars, the existence of many software endeavours will slow down if not tilted. Now, add up the effects of the 1st World Trade War and think twice.
Generative Ai with full capacity is years away. We observe the teaser of the reality show coming to our theatres in the second half of the 21st century.
Until then, we are observing the applied Ai with machine learning intensified. We are more into extreme automation rather than singularity. This transition may take more than 20 years. Likewise, the Trade Wars do. Then we will be driving autonomous cars, served by robots, wearing printed shoes, and you name it.

However, the next 20 years may be the death of the mid-level white-collared workforce. Do you remember the play, "Death of a Salesman" by Artur Miller in the 50s? Something like that.
Any blue-collared worker is doubled in value, if not tripled.
Remember, we are at war anymore! I want not to be fooled by the recent tech mania and stay focused on the real work to be done, well, at least for the next 20 years. Office work will be disrupted more than ever soon. It is the revenge of the real. If you want to stay relevant in your job (or should I say have a job), I strongly suggest you read the previous episode and design your life accordingly. Or start farming instead.
TGI Friday!
