Revealed: Why World Peace Isn’t Happening

War. Terrorism. Hate.
It’s the world we live in. Have lived in for millennia.
In the west we’re fairly protected from it all; we sympathize with refugees and raise funds to help. But really, war isn’t known to my generation from first hand experience. Thank God.
Even so, there’s a lot of anger in society. Lot of judging, criticizing and name-calling. I’m no exception; there are moments of exasperation (mostly about the government and inconsiderate cyclists). The negativity that’s palpable around the world, the fear and anger and resulting in hateful behavior - all of this is contributing to more angst.
World Peace
Why aren’t we living in a peaceful world? It’s 2020 - with everything we supposedly have achieved, why can’t we have peace globally?
Your thoughts might immediately jump to common known factors: the weapon industry is lobbying hard to make more sales; conflicts among tribes and ethnicity are fueling war; there are people in power who are greedy and want more - come what may…
Those are valid reasons, BUT
Have you ever considered how you contribute to peace - or the lack thereof? How your behaviour towards yourself and those around you has a direct impact on peace in the world?
One of my favourite quotes is by Black Elk, sage of the Lakota Sioux:
The first peace, which is the most important, is that which comes within the souls of people when they realize their relationship, their oneness with the universe and all its powers, and when they realize at the center of the universe dwells the Great Spirit, and that its center is really everywhere, it is within each of us.
This is the real peace, and the others are but reflections of this.
The second peace is that which is made between two individuals, and the third is that which is made between nations. But above all you should understand that there can never be peace between nations until there is first known that first true peace.
Living from Within
When you’re living from within your soul and heart, feel the connectedness of all people - and living things - and understand that we’re here to contribute to something bigger and better; that’s when your barriers drop and you can give of yourself freely.
It might sound scary. The media and marketing agencies are doing their best to keep us in the current fear mindset of scarcity. Especially in this pandemic: there are no jobs, no opportunities, no toilet paper.
Instead of celebrating the many initiatives where people are coming together to build and create new things to serve others; we only get to see the bad news.
But good things are happening and it’s worth your while to step out of your day for some time and connect with the positive things happening. Open up to opportunities you hadn’t considered before. Ask yourself what world concern is so important to you that you want to help tackle it.
For me it’s world peace.
That’s why my coaching is all about reconnecting you with your soul, heart and mind; to live in harmony and peace. Understand how fear is limiting your options and how to turn away from the doom and gloom.
And setting beliefs that serve you.
There’s no limitation of resources in the world. There’s enough for everyone - if we’d all embrace the wealth we do have: safety, water, food, family and friends, education, a job or the ability to get one; and above all: being able to contribute positively to society.
How amazing that you and I can actually contribute to the world’s biggest problems?
The world has started to wake up to this truth but we need more people to live by it. Already 50 years ago R. Buckminster Fuller said:
Everyone has the perfect gift to give the world-and if each of us is freed up to give our unique gift, the world will be in total harmony.
So, what’s your unique gift?
What do you contribute to the world?
And what stand do you want to take for (y)our future?
I can’t wait to find out - please leave a comment or dm me!
