REVEALED: 5 RITUALS OF PEAK-PERFORMERS IN SALES

Let me be honest with you friends. I am actually sad that a number of sales executives we come across on a daily basis are finding it hard to survive in today’s era of economic turmoil across the globe. Unfortunately, they are also running late on their Dreams as well as Bills. Additionally, the advent of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning will slowly reduce the dependency of customers on the Salespeople. Thus, it’s important that we brace ourselves up for what lies ahead and be fully equipped with the right kind of knowledge, tools, techniques and as well as the Attitude needed to be Super-successful in this field of Selling.  

That is why, I am sharing with you, the Rituals of Champion Salespeople who over-perform, over-deliver and out-perform at their workplace. Remember, these strategies have never earlier been disclosed in public domain. The only reason I am bringing these out is because I want you to succeed in your Life. I want you to come out of “average” mentality and deliver at extra-ordinary levels. I want you to have enough money so that you never have to worry about feeding your family. And I want you to be the #1 Salesperson in your company.

But for these tools to deliver results, you will have to implement every ritual religiously and not just merely read them. Believing, that you are ready to take your life to the next-level, let us begin.

1)     WORK AT FULL THROTTLE FROM DAY 1.

The first 10 days of every month/quarter are extremely critical in Sales. Don’t slow down at the beginning of your fresh month/quarter. 90% Salespeople make the mistake of working at a relaxed/slow pace in the initial few days and then as the pressure increases, they speed up their work. This leads to low productivity, stress and at times, such salespeople fall short of achieving their monthly/quarterly Quota. The Champion salespeople, however, work at the top-most gear from the Day 1. They plan every minute of their time spent at work. This helps them achieve their desired target well before the stipulated time frame.


2)     NO JUNK FOR THE FIRST 90 MINUTES.

You will find a lot of salespeople who spend the first couple of hours every morning doing the backend work (such as making entries in CRM/Salesforce, sending out proposals, enjoying coffee in cafeteria and so on). But this not the ritual followed by successful salesmen. They understand the importance of first 90 minutes at work. They believe in making calls, cold-calling clients over phone, confirming their appointments for the day, and brainstorming with their colleagues on how to crack bigger accounts. Remember, that the brain functions efficiently and more creatively when we are fresh for work in the morning. Don’t divert your brain energy for doing mundane work. High-performers will devote the time for backend activities during lunch breaks/late evening. 90 minutes a day will make all the difference at the end of Month/Quarter.


3)     MEET THE MENTOR

You have a mentor for sales success? If not, you are running late on your dreams. I highly recommend that you should have a mentor at your workplace. A mentor is someone who has already achieved what you aspire for in your professional life. A mentor guides you with constructive feedback. Champion Salespeople, spend at least 30-60minutes every month with their mentors. A mentor can be your immediate reporting boss/ your manager’s manager or even a colleague who’s doing great in Sales. Mentor can also be someone who’s a sales expert in your industry but doesn’t necessarily work in your office. Reach out to such people for guidance. Don’t hesitate to Ask. Spend time with them. Learn from their lessons. And Success will be a constant companion in your Life.


4)     ONE BOOK EVERY MONTH

Research has shown that an average CEO reads 60 books in a year. Now that’s an astonishingly high figure. But that’s why the CEO’s get paid astonishingly high salaries. If you can read voraciously, I recommend aiming that number. But for the starters, I would suggest start with reading one book per month. Read about Sales, How to Sell and anything/everything about your industry. For example, if you are a Real estate salesman, i suggest that you read about the latest trends/changes in your industry as well. When you read, you can add value to your client’s business. You can talk sense in all your appointments. Leaders are Readers. Be a Sales leader and not just a follower.


5)     NO NEGATIVITY ALLOWED HERE

Successful salespeople stay away from workplace negativity. Every day, there’s a conscious effort on their part to spend minimum time around people who spread negativity. In every office, there are people who spread negative vibes. They talk bad about their work, bosses, salary and industry. Every time the economy goes down, their sale is impacted. Every time, there is a spike in their electricity bill, they want a Salary hike. High-performers do not hang around such people. Rather, they send time with people who bring positivity, high energy and a spark to the workplace. Peak-performers understand that whatever they will focus on would expand. Thus, I highly recommend, that you spend time with people who bring out the best in you every day at work.

Start executing these secret Rituals from this very moment and see the magic unfold in your Life. And remember; do not settle for the Ordinary in Life because the world has already had enough of it.

I haven't used sales strategies to its potential yet, but I think I'll have to look into it after this.
