"The only thing standing in your way is you."
That quote is from my book, "Live. Love. Engage. - How to Stop Doubting Yourself and Start Being Yourself." It's a lesson I had to learn because I used to feel like I was standing in my own way, holding myself back from achieving my dreams.
As spiritually-minded entrepreneurs, we often encounter moments of self-doubt that can lead to self-sabotage. But what if I told you that these challenges are actually opportunities for growth and transformation?
In my journey from TV producer to spiritual healer, I've discovered some powerful insights about overcoming self-doubt and embracing our true potential. I shared these thoughts with Beverly Glazer on her Aging with Purpose and Passion podcast. This summary of our interview offers ideas to help you tap into your inner wisdom and create a business with more impact, influence, and income.
The Power of Going Within
One of the most transformative practices I've discovered is the art of going within. This involves two key elements:
Meditation
Since 2009, meditation has been a cornerstone of my personal and professional growth. It doesn't have to be complicated or time-consuming. Even just 5-10 minutes of quiet reflection can make a world of difference. Here are some simple ways to incorporate meditation into your daily routine:
Remember, the goal is to be still and know. By quieting your mind, you create space for your inner wisdom to emerge.
Journaling
Journaling is another powerful tool for self-discovery. Don't worry about perfect prose - just let your thoughts flow onto the page. You might be surprised by the insights that emerge. Try these journaling prompts:
Embracing Your Uniqueness
As women entrepreneurs, it's easy to fall into the comparison trap. But your unique experiences and perspectives are your greatest assets. In my book, I explore this concept through the acronym L.O.V.E. which stands for:
When you align with your higher self, you naturally attract the right clients and opportunities. It's not about changing who you are, but rather about fully embracing your authentic self.
Overcoming the "Not Enough" Syndrome
Many of us struggle with feelings of inadequacy, especially when starting a new venture. I've been there too. Growing up in a challenging family environment, I often doubted my worth and capabilities.
But here's the truth: You are enough, just as you are. Your experiences - even the difficult ones - have shaped you into the unique individual you are today. Instead of seeing your past as a liability, recognize it as a source of strength and wisdom.
The Art of Receiving
One of the most profound lessons I've learned is the importance of being open to receiving. Whether it's a compliment, an opportunity, or financial reward, many of us struggle to accept what's offered to us.
I shared a story about my sister hesitating to accept a generous holiday gift from a client. This experience taught me that sometimes, money is a way for people to show love and appreciation. By opening ourselves to receive, we allow more abundance to flow into our lives.
Finding Your Spiritual SEO
Women entrepreneurs are often told to focus on search engine optimization (SEO) to grow their businesses. But what if you approached this concept from a spiritual perspective? I've come to understand that true success comes from Spiritually Engaging Others.
When your business is aligned with your higher purpose, the right people and opportunities come your way with ease and grace. It's not just about keywords and algorithms - it's about creating genuine connections and serving from the heart.
Final Thoughts
If you're struggling to find your purpose or feeling stuck in your business, remember these three things:
Start by loving yourself. Be kind to yourself when you make mistakes. Appreciate your journey, including the detours and obstacles. Every experience has brought you to where you are today.
Decide that you want a happy, prosperous life, and then take small steps each day to make it happen. Connect with your inner wisdom through meditation and journaling. Embrace your unique gifts and experiences. And most importantly, believe in yourself.

Retired IT. For fun I offer chat facilitation on group Zoom calls! | Spirit & Holism Rev. | Perspectivist | Author & Blogger | Teaches: Mirrorball Perspectives, Fractals, Interconnectedness, and Sacred Wisdom
1 周The first co-author book I was involved with, I wrote the chapter on being 'open to receive.' And while I am always ready to receive, I still consider myself more of a Giver than a Taker (like it's somehow more 'right'). After our call yesterday, I took a sauna and meditated on what I was missing in regards to being open to receive. And today, the answer came during another Zoom I participate in. I didn't really 'know myself.' And that's a lifelong process, akin to peeling the layers of an onion. I do know myself more now than ever before. But I still get annoyed when others don't Give as much as I do. I still have a bit of Ego, though I am a very humble person. I think the spiritual walk continues to demand that I sit in Stillness and allow the profound Knowing to emerge. The 'Letting Go' that you so clearly speak of. The more I go inward and Let Go of my own Knowing, my own Will, my own Independent Strength, the more I Allow Omniscience to flood me with Grace. Now, will all the help I desire come to me (and believe me, I do ask, and I ask in many ways and with clarity, even pointedly to certain others), I don’t know.?As I work on my 5th book, I invited the Sacred Tapestry of Connected Ones. It doesn't just 'take two to tango.'
