Meet Nishant Agrawal, Principal Software Engineer in Pune. His primary focus is working with Mastercard Move team in Commercial and New Payments flow vertical, Responsible for designing and defining the new edge APIs for Disbursements and Remittances (D&R) for our customers, ensuring a consistent experience by unifying existing APIs across multiple applications.
Also, dedicated to inculcating best engineering practices, building a highly motivated team to solve technical problems in unique ways and focus on building solutions and tools that can be used across the company by other engineering teams to improve efficiency and consistency.
Q1- What has been your favorite memory at Mastercard?
While there were numerous memories, one that particularly stood out to me was the company's emphasis on employee-friendly policies and prioritization of employee well-being by providing flexy Fridays, meeting free days and other initiatives like celebrating 'Mastercard Day of Solidarity' on Juneteenth day.
Q2 - What motivated you to return to Mastercard? Was there anything specific you missed while you were away?
I really liked the employee-oriented policies, leaves, and monetary benefits that Mastercard offers. I missed working on constant innovation and cutting edge technology with privilege of working alongside some of the most intellectual and friendly people.
Q3 - How would you describe your onboarding experience as a returning employee?
Both my hiring manager and talent acquisition partner were approachable and supporting to clear any queries regarding re-employment and continuation of service. I really liked the revamped and easy onboarding experience to collect the assets and lighter onboarding experience.

Q4 - What was the most important support your received from Mastercard on returning?
Mastercard policies were exceptionally supportive for a returning employee, and I greatly appreciated the manner in which the reasons for departure and subsequent return were met with openness and positivity.
Q5 - How did your time away from Mastercard add value when you came back?
I received well-deserved time off to reflect on myself and focus on areas for personal and professional development. My experience working with cutting-edge technologies at Mastercard greatly aided me in applying my expertise to a new company. This opportunity allowed me to regain confidence and energy, returning with renewed motivation and vigour.
