The Return of Feudalism: America’s Grand Masquerade of Liberty

The Return of Feudalism: America’s Grand Masquerade of Liberty

As the United States marches stoically towards its 250th anniversary, a theatrical charade unfolds, orchestrated by our very own elected jesters. What’s on the playbill, you ask? A tragicomedy titled, “The Return of Feudalism,” where our liberties, once the star of the show, now play second fiddle to a burgeoning autocracy dressed up as a benevolent nanny state. Trust me, Lewis Carrol would have had a field day satirizing this grand illusion of freedom!

The Surveillance Spectacle: You're on Candid Camera!

First, let's peek behind the curtain of the Patriot Act. Ostensibly a magic wand to combat the dark arts of terrorism, it’s been wielded with the finesse of a sledgehammer, turning the Land of the Free into the studio of the world's least exciting reality show, "Big Brother: Government Edition." Our every text, call, and meme—watched under the unblinking eye of Uncle Joe and Aunt Kamela. "Privacy," it seems, is just a quaint concept from a bygone era, much like horse-drawn carriages and bipartisanship.

Legislative Overreach: A Magician’s Trick Gone Wrong

Under the guise of protecting us from ourselves, recent regimes have pulled legislative rabbits out of their hats with the enthusiasm of a car salesman on commission. Consider the crypto crackdown under Biden—less about thwarting villains and more about ensuring Uncle Sam gets a cut of the digital pie. It’s less about financial security and more about a controlled economy, which, if history teaches us anything, works about as well as a screen door on a submarine.

Educational Reforms: Manufacturing Tomorrow's Yes-Men

Our educational system, under the spell of past administrations, particularly Uncle Barack, has transformed from a bastion of free thought into a factory churning out well-behaved government cheerleaders. Common Core? More like Common Bore. It seems we’re less interested in teaching critical thinking and more invested in programming kids to nod and smile. Will Rogers, known for his razor-sharp wit, would likely have penned a few choice words about teaching parrots to squawk ‘democracy’ without understanding the word.

The Financial Policy Council (FPC): The Lone Ranger

Thank goodness for the knights in analytical armor at the Financial Policy Council, who joust with these windmills of bureaucratic overreach. They labor tirelessly to remind us that economic freedom is the bedrock of personal liberty—apparently, a revolutionary idea these days.

A Call to Action: Don't Just Sit There, Do Something!

So, dear reader, as our forefathers turn in their graves (spinning enough to solve our energy crisis), it’s time we took a stand. Engage in debates, question the hand-fed media narratives, and throw your support behind the FPC’s valiant efforts to keep our ship of state from sinking under the weight of its own regulatory cargo.

Brace yourselves, fellow patriots, for the hellscape that awaits if we continue our sleepwalk into servitude. Failure to act isn't just an option – it's a one-way ticket to a dystopian nightmare that would make Orwell's 1984 look like a utopian fantasy. Imagine a world where your every thought is monitored, every dissenting whisper silenced, and every shred of individuality crushed under the iron boot of a tyrannical nanny state. Our once-proud republic will descend into a neo-feudal cesspit, where corporate oligarchs and government autocrats feast on the desiccated corpse of the American Dream.

Liberty? A quaint relic. Privacy? A luxury for the elite. Economic freedom? A fairy tale we tell our children, assuming we're still allowed to think freely enough to procreate. Our educational system will churn out lobotomized drones, incapable of questioning the propaganda force-fed to them since birth. Innovation will wither on the vine, strangled by the tentacles of bureaucratic overreach. And you, dear citizen? You'll be nothing more than a cog in this infernal machine, your life reduced to a series of approved behaviors and sanctioned thoughts.

This isn't just the death of America – it's the annihilation of the human spirit itself. So, ask yourself: Is this the legacy you want to leave? A whimpering surrender to the forces of oppression? Or will you stand and fight for the last vestiges of freedom in this land of the formerly free and home of the increasingly subjugated?

Remember, if we continue to treat our freedoms like optional extras at a car dealership, we shouldn’t be surprised when they’re priced out of reach. Let’s not content ourselves with watching the show—grab a pen, a protest sign, or a voting ballot and rewrite the script. After all, if we don’t fight for our liberties, who will? And as Mr. Clemens might quip, "Loyalty to the country always. Loyalty to the government when it deserves it."

The Surveillance Spectacle: You're on Candid Carmera. This should concern everyone greatly. Look no further than England where you can not be arrested for posting or re-posting harmful comments. Not at all shocking after Prince Harry called the 1st Amendment "Bonkers" here in America. So nice he was able to say that freely in the United States.

Right on Stanford, and appreciate you highlighting the very flawed and misconceived Patriot Act -- but let us not forget to put a spotlight on No Child Left Behind, another Bush era law that spawned in the aftermath of the September 11th intelligence failure, which transformed education into propaganda and schoolboards into gestapos. Both, like so many other worthless legislative actions that fail to deliver the promise of their names, need to be repealed. And that includes The Affordable Care Act (a.k.a. Obamacare) which has done nothing but to raise costs to individuals while paving the way to a complete government takeover of the industry -- just as it was designed to do, using crisis measures (such as Covid-19). Appreciate your thoughtful post/article. Keep up the good fight. Cheers

A well articulated piece, Stanford Silverman I’ll go from my lane, metaphysical psychology. One. It’s important for people to see “wins” towards the goal because the reward centers of the brain require knowing efforts are working, otherwise people think “it’s useless,” and quit.? Two. This quote refers to the disbursement of human energy and capital. ? “There is a wide difference between the will to resist an activity and the decision to change it. He who changes an activity acts; whereas he who resists an activity re-acts. One creates; the other perpetuates.” Neville Goddard. Keep up the good work. ?? ?

Dear Vicente, Your astute comparison of my writings to von Mises is intriguing, yet my intellectual roots lie more with the Chicago School tradition. While we share common ground, our methodologies differ. My economic philosophy interweaves Smith's invisible hand, Friedman's monetarism, Hayek's spontaneous order, and Bastiat's critiques of interventionism. Politically, I draw from Aristotle's eudaimonia, Locke's social contract, Jefferson's individual liberties, and Reagan's governance principles. Add a measure of Rand's individualism, Ron Paul's constitutionalism, and Sowell's social analysis, and you have the foundation of my perspective. This diverse lineage forms the bedrock of my writings. The von Mises echo you've detected is but one note in a symphony spanning millennia and continents. Thank you for your engaging observation. Regards, Stanford
