I believe we all remember 2020, like it was just yesterday.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, building block technologies such as cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and machine learning accelerated in their development and adoption into businesses. And so, it was either your business goes digital or you don't have a business.
Be digital or die, that was a common phrase i came across in most of my interactions. Digital transformation drove technology projects, remote work and education became the norm. Board meeting were done virtually too. I even attended an online team building exercise and it was quite the experience.
This year 2021 may bear fruits for business technology, though there are a couple of uncertainties ahead. Ask yourself;
- What is the future of your profession or work (despite the many webinars on the topic)?
- Will technology projects be managed differently going forward?
- How can organizations or institutions utilize technologies to maintain the company's culture?
- What does the new/next normal for work look like and how does collaboration develop in this regard?
- What will be the impact of Automation, 5G, edge and cloud computing on the different industries we have?
- What new industries will emerge as a result?
I don't have all the answers, but let's give it a thought and be prepared.
2020 was disruptive enough, but what did you learn from it?
As you ponder on this, have yourself a pleasant year ahead.
God bless!
