Retrofit: Mouth Nose Protection Machine
As part of the Corona Pandemic, many machines for the production of protective masks were manufactured. However, these machines are not optimally built from their system and are provided with many manual interventions by humans. We took a closer look at these machines and optimized them.
First of all, we have optimized the material control. The tension is largely achieved via mechanical brakes. Although this system is cheap, it has the disadvantage that neither the tension can be measured on the actual material, nor can it be seen as approximately constant.
If you run without a constant tension, the mask may not be shaped as you want it to, but it can also come to a standstill because the materials get caught in the machine.
Based on this, we have designed a complete unit that can be easily attached to the existing machine. The actual tension can be measured and adjusted over the entire reel via a display using measuring rollers, servomotors and manipulation units.
This measure allows existing machines with simple brakes to deliver up to 50% more output.
