It's Never Too Late to Have Had a Good Day

I’m a big believer in having fun as often as possible. Not everything you do will be a good time, of course, but I make an effort to enjoy what I do, and there are a few reasons for that:

1.??? It’s healthy: Most of us spend more of our waking hours working than doing anything else. NOT choosing to inject a little fun into my day would make my days unbearable.

2.??? It’s productive: I’ve met a lot of successful people in my life and they all had one thing in common: they loved what they did. If you enjoy what you do, you invest more of yourself into it, get better at it, and become a resource for others. In my experience, that never goes unnoticed for long. Never.?

3.??? It’s a good influence: Positivity, fun, and good energy changes how people around you feel. We all know those people we enjoy being around, who make us feel good and lighten our mood. We can all choose to be one of those people.

4.??? It can change the kind of day you had. Notice the past tense. ??

All of these are valid, but it’s that last point that I wanted to expand upon.

It’s an odd quirk of the human psyche that you can change what kind of day you had at any point by changing your narrative. I have had many challenging days where I struggled. But when I get home and talk about it, and I focus on the good, I find that I feel far better than I did during the day. It’s never too late to have had a good day.

There are things we can’t control, and things will go wrong. We all fall. But what really matters—what makes the biggest difference in how that moment, that day, that job—is what you do next.
