Well, most of us have places we want to travel as soon as we retire, events or things we would attend or do if we were retired, books we want to read, or relationships or friends we want to follow up with, or just the general 'ability to do nothing' if I want days.

This article is for people who are ready for their 'next thing' after the retirement honeymoon period is over ... you want something to do that excites you to get up every morning. Something that, at times, makes you want to work into the wee hours of the night. Something fun to do that makes you feel like you are accomplishing something.

You're looking for something to add excitement, focus and purpose after stepping away from the 9-5 grind. My best advice, after going through an early retirement myself (at age 55), is to "retire to" something, not 'from' something.

Find that 'something' that excites or interests you. It's time to go back to a passion, hobbies or activities you enjoyed earlier in life.

What was that?

What if you could take that passion, hobby or earlier interest and become an ambassador promoting that passion, hobby or activity?

You Can!

Lots of people, celebrities, athletes, and others become brand ambassadors representing companies and promoting their products to take advantage of their celebrity status and to pad their retirement income. We see them daily in commercials on TV and online in social media posts, videos, etc.

BUT, I'm here to tell you that you don't need to be a celebrity or have a huge social media following to become a success as a brand ambassador. You can become a brand ambassador with no celebrity status or previous marketing efforts sales experience.

Retiring "from" something can bring feelings of sadness, emptiness and stress. It's important to "retire to" something that brings you joy and fulfillment.

2. Research successful brand ambassador jobs:

There may be brand ambassador jobs right in your area, with products or companies you support and fit with the brand's mission and the lifestyle you want to create in retirement. Or better yet, create your own ambassador job. You can build your own brand ambassador business online, without talking to any of the customers or brands you represent directly! (My own personal mentor shows you how in this free video - I've done it!)

3. As an online brand ambassador learn about products and brands people are searching for online.

Learning how to research trending products, social media channels and what people are searching for organically online has been an absolute game changer for me (and for the digital marketing clients I serve!) ... it will give you the ability to choose products you want to review as a brand ambassador because you know people are already interested and searching for them. You'll also learn ninja tricks to write using keywords that are going to get your articles found faster. All organic, all legal, no ads ... just good writing!

4. Network with other brand ambassadors:

Talking to other brand ambassadors can help you understand the job better and how it might fit with your family or retirement lifestyle. Read online reviews here about the AMBSDR Program. We have a tight community of Brand Ambassadors from all over the world, the support is amazing!

5. Make a plan:

Once you’ve done your research, create a plan for becoming a brand ambassador that fits with your values and your happy retirement goals. Consider any additional training or qualifications needed (we highly recommend the AMBSDR certification program to do it right!), what kind of hours you want to work and any other factors that might be important.

Being a brand ambassador online gives me a sense of purpose, something that I'm excited to get up and do every morning ... I'm building something for my future, my family's future and I'm helping people in their searches for the best products and brands along the way.

By researching brand ambassador jobs, understanding the role you play in brand authenticity, the importance of reviews and awareness for all brands and products to succeed. Then, networking with others who do it, you can ensure that happy and fulfilling retirement is within your reach.
