To retire or not to retire - Naomi Campbell hates the word ''retire''

Whether you are in your 20s, 30s, 40s or even 50s... have you planned for your retirement. Are you looking at only financial freedom, or also other more important elements such as work, health, relationships, spirituality, hobby, travel.... What is the probability you would be truly Regal @ 60?

In an interview with The Sunday Times'' Style magazine, the supermodel said that she likes to remain active:

• "I don't like the word ''retire''.... I'm someone who's extremely active. I like to be active and I think I'm always going to be active" she said.
• Campell will turn 50 on May 22, and she says she felt "blessed" to reach the age.
• "Frankly, if I am here on May 22, in isolation, I'm blessed. I wanna get everything out of what we're supposed to get out of this. I'm no saint, or whatever, but I wanna be still enough to catch this wave," she said.
• She has decided to "simplify" her life after the COVID-19 pandemic ends.

#DYK you are super too... If that has just not yet manifested in your life, what are you holding back? What is the excuse?

Lucky are those who get to 'choose' their career. Also, those who choose to make a shift before the 'mid-life' crisis kicks in:) Blessed are those who get to become a professional coach, mentor, counselor, therapist, healer... or simbly, a change agent. More profound, a Light Worker. Just as the medical fraternity plays an important role now, these professionals play an important role too... at the physical, mental, emotional, spiritual levels.

A Case Study: I connected with a CXO early this week. He is looking at Coaching for his post-retirement plan. 'Not to make money, but to help others, in a professional way'. A professional coach should include revenue ($$) as an important part of his work. Also, consider the industry/practice of coaching and all the stakeholders. Once I shared what goes into Becoming a Coach, he said, 'I wish I had started this journey earlier'. Just as we plan for finance for our retirement, we got to plan for life after retirement.

Retirement: That brings me to another important point. Do we really want to retire? Hence I shared the supermodel's interview. Do we really retire at all, in these times? Or do we want to continue to do and be something, with less stress? We have had super-successful professionals in their 50s and a few in their 60s, entering the coaching space to continue learning, to keep the brain active, apart from making a contribution.

Hence we say, ideally

1. career, wealth, health, relationships form the first circle of #Regal@60 and
2. learning, spirituality, philanthropy, legacy, hobby, travel, etc form the second.

'ideally', as in several cases, philanthropy spirituality/related topics come in the first circle.
