Rethinking Learning Experiences for Lasting Impact
Hybrid Performance Group
Becoming the best version of you is a mindset and lifestyle. Make a change. Take over responsibility for your success!
One of the most memorable experiences in my life was my wedding day. The careful attention to detail, surprises, and special moments my wife and I planned for ourselves and our guests made it truly unforgettable. As educators, we can create similarly memorable moments in our learning experiences for our learners. To achieve this, I follow four core principles.
Firstly, it's essential to have a clear vision of success for the learners. Without a vision, creating a lasting impact becomes challenging.
Secondly, creating an inclusive and comfortable learning environment fosters deep engagement among learners.
Thirdly, designing learning takeaways that learners can implement after the program enhances the value and application of the knowledge gained.
Lastly, providing DIY opportunities, like the "see it, try it, do it" method, helps learners internalize and apply the concepts effectively. Just like I can vividly recall my wedding day, we should strive to make our learning experiences easily transferable and impactful for our learners. Now, let's take a moment to reflect and jot down one idea to make our learning experiences more memorable within the next 30 days.
Key points:
Remember the most memorable experience in your life and consider how to make your learning experiences equally unforgettable by following four core principles: have a clear vision of success, create an inclusive environment, design actionable takeaways, and provide DIY opportunities for learners to apply their knowledge.
