Rethinking Leadership after Covid

Rethinking Leadership after Covid

Although this Eurocham event is for members only, I think that the change in business leadership after Covid is not sufficiently recognised.

The Covid pandemic redefined fundamental assumptions about work and managing people. A host of new priorities are challenging business from environmental, economic and social dimensions.

Without going into technology and politico-economic shifts, I think 4 new areas require a rethinking the traditional mindset and capability of leaders in business.?

  1. Sustainability is becoming a capability, not just a compliance issue
  2. Diversity, Equity and Inclusion are becoming ethical imperatives for business
  3. Leading in the future of work requires different leadership roles and behaviours
  4. The multigenerational workforce requires leading people with different values and experience.?

In the Eurocham human development committee, we are fortunate to have INSEAD as a Member with Jukka Majanen serving as one of our co-chairs. We also have other business schools and universities as well as consulting firms involved in leadership development.

We are honoured to have Dr. Vinika Devasar Rao and Pascal De Petrini share their thoughts with our committee.

I hope to see more events like this one to create awareness of how leadership is being redefined.
