Rethink SPECIAL: Retaining and engaging people at work

Dear Rethinkers,

Part two of my series of Rethink Specials on 'The Future of Trust and Work' is out today! The focus of part two is a BIG topic – meaningfully engaging and retaining people in the workplace.

I keep getting asked by leaders: “How do we keep good people?” and “What do we need to do for people to feel engaged at work?”

In this Rethink Special, I dig deeper into:?

  • The root cause of disengagement at work
  • Why this is a $7.8 trillion problem for leaders!
  • Why working for an ‘organisation’ no longer has the same meaning

I think you’ll find this newsletter useful if you’re a leader navigating this trust challenge, if you’re feeling disconnected from your job, or if you’re just curious about the future of work. Please feel free to apply the ideas and research to your work.

Retaining and engaging is the second most challenging issue after financial management for MSMEs in developing nation. The solutions for R&E perhaps need to be localised, besides some fundamentals on behaviourial and aspirational aspect.

Easily the most insightful newsletter I’ve read all year. Employee drift really captures the imagination.
