... PCs are expected to be sold this year, according to an IDC estimate. The market researchers have reduced their forecast for this year’s global PC market and are now only predicting minimal growth of less than 1 percent each year through 2029. The reasons given for this weakening market are the tariffs imposed by the US and weakening market demand. The market for tablets, which is simply saturated in the consumer goods sector, is expected to fare even worse with a slight fall in sales. In 2029, the IDC expects reduced tablet sales amounting to 141.6 million units (2025: 143.3 million).
