We all enjoy a bit of retail therapy, right? When it comes to indulging, the way we do so is ever evolving. It’s interesting to see how retail and hospitality industries are reacting to these shifts with innovative technology.????

??E-commerce platforms: Now physically ‘going shopping’ feels like something soon be a thing of the past, E-commerce companies are offering unique ways to keep up with our fast-paced ways of spending.

??Food delivery services: Delivery services are quick; there is a real need to use technology for efficient ways to move the food around. And we need to be able to enjoy a user-friendly interface if we’re lucky enough to be ordering in!

??Health and wellness: Start-ups that aim to provide wellness products, organic food options, or natural beauty products all need ways to streamline these journeys, physically or online.

??Craft brewery: Very trendy these days... Establishing breweries/micro-breweries demands ingenuity in a somewhat crowded market.

At Zzinga Honey Cider, the team is on a mission to build the world's most inspiring honey drink while supporting the lovely bees. The Organic certified honey used in their cider ensures that no pesticides may be sprayed on or near the plants visited by bees.

While other brands spend millions to get in front of people's faces in large muddy crowds, Zzinga has a presence at niche festivals where they prefer to engage on a more personal level.

They have been off to a flying start entering the UK's £3bn cider market with their delicious honey cider. Big revenue without (yet) a marketing hive to grow things even further – sounds promising.

How do they achieve this?

With a light capital approach. Production is outsourced to partners so the team can focus on marketing and selling the product. Three main channels are used in this approach: Events and festivals, online and on/off trade.

Ultimately, it's the taste that wins people over with Zzinga's people-focused brand are landing varied business opportunities.

What's next?

We have touched on such a small area of tech advances that will be helping brands grow this year and onward, and that is without even mentioning the likes of AI, AR/VR shopping experiences, smarter packaging eco-systems, simulated shopping, robotics, automation...The list is endless! All advances put in place to ensure we have an enjoyable retail/hospitality experience, so we better go and make the most of them!
