they repeatedly come because of the EXPERIENCE they get.

  • Demographics , Purchasing power of customer near your store location.
  • Accessabilty , visibility, buying area, traffic flow, Survey and gathering data
  • Competition Mapping.

( Internal factors )

  • Product displays
  • Product placement
  • Product pricing
  • Lighting Design, Architecture and layout

Utilization of each and every space, selection of warm or cool lighting where to place, dull or bright lighting where to place

  • Visibility - especially of main approach .

" Jo dikhay ga wo bikey ga", So visibility is a very critical factor in Retailing

and thats the reason why your suppliers will be ready to give you heavy shelf rents

  • Preventing Claustrophobia

Claustrophobia is feeling of becoming

uncomfortable because of narrow and confined passages

( while setting up rows in a floor , ensure that customer gets feeling of open space .

The rows should not be either too wide causing space wastage

Or either too narrow to cause claustrophobic feeling in customer during shopping, on average a row should have At least space of 2 trollies to cross by.

  • Selection of hot and cold zones , customer footfall.
  • ?Product Information and labeling
  • Guidemap of categories location on rows or columns
  • In-store promotions and Loyalty Program Different in-store promotions and loyalty program have a huge impact

in retail.,the focus is on giving benefits and discounts to loyal customers ?to boost ?repeat purchase

So some extra discounts / ?giving discount card can also be done.

  • Team work and training

Finding a good Sales and procurement team is crutial.

Retail is the name of Team Work , here "one man show" don't exist

Front line sales team Role is very very important .they can either create or destroy your store image as most interaction of customer is with floor

staff or cashier. the front line sales team should get training for few months regarding interacting with customers

This technique of training staff for few months was first used by Al-fatah store

and usually their front line staff performs better as compared with other stores

( still we are humans and mistakes can happen from both sides )

  • ?Preventing leakages ( thefts).

leakages is the drawback of a Retail stock and for this strict standards need to follow

  • ?Written Agreements

Written Agreements with suppliers regarding trade discounts, Monthly Rentals

A good procurement manager should always sign agreements with suppliers

on the term and conditions they will work on.

  • ?Aroma and Ambiance.
  • ?Using Automation softwares, cloud, etc
  • Backup finance and investors
  • Overall store environment ( Safety and Security )

OVERALL ITS SHOULD BE YOUR MISSION TO MAKE YOUR RETAIL STORE A BRAND

Because as discussed before

Customer don't only come to buy a product at your store, they repeatedly come because of the EXPERIENCE .

- Availability of products

- location of store ( approach ,parking, convenience etc)

- staff behavior

- overall store environment

Are families comfortable and feel safe while shopping, safety and security

These all factors have a positive impact on purchase intention.
