Retail is Detail is something we have talked about for years in our industry but have you ever used this in an interview? I did and then followed up with 'Remember my name is Bradley Lane' it stuck and I got the job. I still cringe to this day but it makes me smile, regardless.

Here's some highlights for June '23

  1. High Street Renaissance: Independent Retailers Flourish

In a heartening turn of events, June 2023 witnessed a remarkable resurgence of independent retailers on the UK high streets. After years of challenges posed by online shopping and chain stores, local businesses have been making a strong comeback. This revival can be attributed to increased support from local communities, innovative business models, and a renewed focus on unique customer experiences.

2. Sustainability Takes Center Stage: Major Retailers Pledge Green Initiatives

Recognising the pressing need for environmental action, several major UK retailers have announced ambitious sustainability initiatives. Retail giants such as Marks & Spencer, Tesco, and John Lewis have committed to reducing their carbon footprint, implementing plastic-free packaging, and sourcing ethically produced goods. These pledges reflect the growing consumer demand for eco-friendly practices and demonstrate the industry's commitment to addressing climate change.

3. Technology Revolutionises Shopping Experience: Virtual Reality Shopping Gains Traction
