Retail Body Worn Cameras
Body Worn Cameras (BWC) have been used by law enforcement to accurately record and document unexpected interactions. Having a high quality and detailed audio/video record can make the difference between conviction and acquittal. BWCs also help to deter and de-escalate potentially violent interactions. The technology has been available for years but the costs have put them out of reach for many retail applications. DataSpan has two cost effective options for retail associates and ORC agents.
The first is the Motorola VT100. This BWC is typically used by retail associates that interact with customers. The VT100 is a light weight (2.54oz) device that is about the size of a credit card with 16GB of memory. It can be worn as a badge or on a lanyard around your neck. The VT100 has a resolution of 1280x720HD, 30 frames per second, simple push to record buttons and a 130-degree field of view.
The second option is the VB400. The VB400 (5.7oz) is slightly larger and can be used by ORC agents that require a device that is heavy-duty and can capture incidents that may require up to 64GB of memory. It can be worn using a chest or shoulder harness. The VB400 has a resolution of 1920x1080HD, 25-30 frames per second, simple push to record buttons and a field of view that covers 120-degrees horizontal, 65-degrees vertical and 140-degrees diagonal.
DataSpan is the largest supplier of Motorola 2-way radios for retail LP in the North American market.
