THE RESURRECTOR

What if the world or a huge chunk of it comes to an end? We as humans have progressed massively using the power of collective intelligence and leveraging onto the inventions and discoveries of few ,others have built on that to create a very evolved and complex world.
Individually we lack enough knowledge, practical or theoretical to recreate all of this if it were to be destroyed. Howmuchsoever we have evolved technologically or scientifically the root DNA still belongs to the animal kingdom. Kill or be killed, eat, sleep, procreate, recycle, repeat .We, in some cases cannot fathom, while in other cases can see the potential dangers of our actions and damaging excursions, still we are incorrigible. Humans, as a whole are tuned to think short-term and be selfish. Be it global warming or nuclear proliferation we have shown utmost disrespect to the power of nature. Our progress could have been exponential had we not focused too much energy and resources on : capturing land and resources. We fight over forceful conversion to one’s beliefs we fight and kill over piece of land(and this applies to almost everyone without bias).
Most have never even explored 10% of their own country in their lifetimes. We mark territories like animals do in the jungles.
What does one stand to achieve out of this? Once having tasted blood and power to kill, do we believe that once that land is given the terrorists will rest? And start cultivation and schools in the acquired land?
Playing with Nuclear weapons, every country having pointed a weapon of mass destruction at others
With a feather touch trigger ready to decimate progress and life created over millions of years. If 13.8 billion years of the known existence of our universe is squeezed into an year with Big Bang being January 1(as Sagan & Tyson explained) ,all history and life as we know it came into existence in the last week of December. While all our progress the agricultural the industrial revolution happened in the last hour. Gautam Buddha was born 7 minutes ago and Jesus was born 6 minutes ago. Copernicus & Galileo a few seconds ago. We must respect life.
In Artificial intelligence, we are summoning an evil spirit we know we cannot, but somehow believe we can and will be able to, control. Just like the nuclear race every country is hell bent upon winning the AI race. Homo sapiens progressed so much, the theory of evolution somehow having taken a favorable turn some 50-75k years ago, making us evolve at a faster rate than other know species. Now we are not here to dwell on the reasons and theories or fight over who progressed how much. It is neither the size of the brain nor the peculiar characteristics that animals and birds developed to survive(spots, migrations, special organs, regeneration(over which they didn’t have control mostly)). It is about the cognitive quality of the human mind. The ability to control environment, the ability to interact with other species, the power to manipulate nature , understand medicine, intelligence to understand atoms, gravity, electromagnetic energy, explore the universe, create means of transport, communicate, create things smarter or at least more efficient than us for performing certain tasks are no easy feats.
If we cannot find food , we create it, we grow it. Somewhere from the gatherer & hunter we became farmers some 14-15k years ago. It took us 40k years approx. to learn that skill. Then from there to the industrial revolution we took some 12-14k years. From industrial revolution to the computer/space age we took just about 100 years. And now that revolution is expected in even lesser time. The duration it takes for us to evolve is becoming less and less. However the problem is we don’t actually know how everything works (and I am talking at an individual level). Yeah there are those ‘tell me why books’ and ‘how stuff works’ and TV shows which try to teach us. But actual practical knowledge is lacking.
As an example all cheetahs will run at approximately the same speed. They don’t work hard to become better than one and other for sports. All of them are almost equally intelligent (again there will always be difference but we are talking about differences which can heavily impact a continent or the world). In our case not all can paint like Picasso not all can think like Einstein, Einstein cannot do what a farmer can do so on and so forth.
Let’s analyze this: Standing in front of a building can you ever try to explain to a zebra that this structure has been created by humans using cement and concrete and metals mined from the earth’s crust. Hey by the way what is earth, what is a crust? What is a metal? What is a machine? Why did you create it? How did it get transported? What is a truck? What is fuel? It comes from what again?? Fossil?? Do we all die? And we are a collection of organs? What you mean to say there is reason for eating? It gives us energy? Helps us to grow? What is energy? We are made up of cells? How does it work, How do you know this? You are saying someone invented this years back and recorded this and communicated this to all of you? What is communication? What is a phone what is a book? What is an year? What is a second? What is a computer? You are saying those white dots (stars)in the sky (what is a sky?) are not burnt pieces of grass very far away? Galaxies, black holes, dark matter, comets, meteors? You can plan for the future?strategise? what is that that you are wearing? What are clothes? How do you sew them?from where and how did you get the material? How did you know that this cotton plant can be used to wear ? why do you want to avoid being naked? You can actually navigate over a river by creating a flyover without being eaten by crocodiles? You can move from this grassland to another in a jeep? Using tyres and engines? What are those? What do you do in those structures? What is an escalator? How does it work? What is electricity? How do you control it? What all it can do? You are saying you can control the temperature? That we don’t need to get wet in the rains? If we get hurt there is someone in that building who can fix the pain? If someone loses a limb they can help? What is pain? How does brain function? what are neurons? What is a brain actually?what is a career? You are saying that we can choose to be a what?? Sexologist? Painter?cricketer? wait what is cricket? A sport? What’s that? Who plays how do they play and why do people watch? Why do they laugh? What is a laugh? What is a joke? How do people living 1000 miles away watch these people play sport? What is a TV? How does it work for that to understand you first tell me what is a wire? What is copper , rubber, aluminium, rocket, antenna, receiver? You are saying in real-time this can be seen somewhere else? That it can be recorded also? Are you saying I can analyze the video of the lion killing my friends last week by watching it again and again? You are saying there is world outside this jungle? what is an ocean?
No I am not in any way mocking or making fun of any other animal, but I want you to see the difference quality of intelligence makes. Not by choice of course, they love they eat they care they fight they protect but here we are not talking about are they stupid and not important or we are superior. Totally the opposite actually valuing all forms of life. Many of us cannot do/create/recreate even if we understand what has been mentioned in the last paragraph .Species who can control what happens to other species change modify the Terra firma of the planet, manipulate energies and matter. Imagine someone just a bit more intelligent than us, will that being feel similar helplessness in trying to explain things to us?
If something goes wrong what will the survivors be able to do? Let’s ask ourselves, in case of a nuclear holocaust or some other apocalypse what will you tell your next generation?
Suppose there is no electricity, will you be able to generate it again? All your devices will stop working.
In case someone destroys the satellites will you be able to create and launch a satellite? How will you restart communication or mass communication? Can you manufacture a car? Can you create an AC or a fridge? What about water? Medicines in case the factories stop working or the supplies dry-up? What about the logistics? The fuel?
It is like the Noah's arc but not saving only the seeds & animals , but actual technology to recreate everything from scratch with actual guidance and steps and resources or guide on where to find them.
You release a pod and it scans the area finds metals or analyses the soil and sows or guides how to sow after clearing up the area. We know what a plane is but it will create an aeroplane back again. Or the parts the tech behind it. It is very complicated but it is done. In a way using the tech we know will eventually destroy us: AI. This will be the last AI that we build: THE RESURRECTOR.
Problem is we are not thinking of the ultimate worst situation. It wouldn’t matter what and how many times you recreate. The more intelligent specie will control whatever happens to us.
And till we can find other forms of life in the universe/multiverse, our preciousness is all the more important and unbelievably magical. With billions of solar systems in each galaxy and billions of galaxies out their (that we know of) there are bound to be other discoveries sooner than later. Till then let’s focus on what actually matters, what is actually important.
The day we actually decode consciousness(which I will discuss in the next post) will be a scary day, if we don't handle it well.
If we are a simulation and are at the final step of repeating this endless cycle of creating a simulated world our creator and also the ultimate creator; God would be really happy with our progress though.
