Do you happen to have in you a ninja like potential, but somehow are not able to timely and rightly channelise it? Well, if yes, this post is exclusively for you as here you will get to know of small behavioural alterations which can powerfully help you become absolutely unstoppable and use your potential to the fullest.
So, let’s get the discussion started!
1- Stop brooding and start acting- The difference, as you may already know, between the extraordinary and the ordinary is that the former one daringly acts and the later one usually drains time and loses opportunity by being caught up in considering all sorts of “What-ifs.” You would agree with the fact that we all are absorbed in our issues and that we all are aware of the suiting set of solutions, yet we often fail to summon the required courage to go forward and fix things.
So, if you want to evolve from ordinary to extraordinary then start refraining from analyzing and thinking too much before acting upon. Make a closer connect with yourself and trustfully follow your instincts while making decisions- big or small. And, yes, there will be many who would throw logic at your face, but even then do not ignore your inner voice.
“Every right decision I have ever made has come from my gut. Every wrong decision I’ve made was the result of me not listening to the greater voice of myself.”- Oprah Winfrey
The moment you start thinking, you’ve already lost. Thinking swiftly pulls you out of the zone.
2- Master your craft- Yes, perfection can never be achieved, but what fun there is in thus not even striving for perfection? Well, anyways this idea of perfection being an impossible state of art is actually fed upon by those who do not actually wish to see you rise. Also, if you start to hear and adhere the greater voice which is inside you then you will want to do things in an unconventional manner and for that, you would be requiring mastery over your craft. So, spare some time to build a technical foundation and know all the existing rules so that one day you can break through the conventional set of rules and give birth to a new order altogether.
To thus strategically bring an actual change you would definitely have to determinedly practice and aim for perfection. And, once you’ve learnt the left-brain rules then who’s going to stop your right brain from enjoying freedom to break through and become extraordinary?
3. Don’t be inspired by anything temporary- Have you ever dealt with the creative block? I’m sure you too have and it probably wasn’t very easy which is why you have paused other things to read through my assertive post which is lengthier than usual. Well, when we let ourselves draw inspiration from mortal things and creatures, we actually settle for an approaching expiry date post which we again would have to search for a new drug which could help us deal with everyday challenges. Because, as a matter of truth, nothing at all is permanent or absolute. So, how about saying a hello to the self and doing everything with the prime agenda to develop the personal self; strengthen the mind and the heart? Trust me, focusing on personal development is a far better idea.
4. Never be satisfied- You would have often come across non-achievers who advocate the idea of finding satisfaction in all things ordinary rather than seeking or striving for extraordinary. So, once you become inspired to enhance your skill set and to use the enhanced set of skills to ultimately develop your personal self, then just refrain from backing down and lazily letting things hang in the middle by digging out portions of satisfaction. So, strategise and act upon to achieve your goal. Also, once you achieve your quantitative target, don’t rest feeling satisfied and keep making mindful efforts to maintain and achieve greater heights. Remember “The drive to close the gap between near-perfect and perfect is the difference between great and unstoppable.” — Tim Grover
5. Gain control- You will often come across people who would go overboard to persuade you for experimenting with substances of all kind. But, if you are ambitious and wish to achieve the impossible then you’ve got to perform well each time and to perform well each time you got to have control over your actions. And, to have control over your actions you need to keep a check on what all you intake (ideas and eatables) and make sure that all of it is absolutely healthy and growth-supportive. So, give away all the things that you are addicted to and get high on the joy of achieving your milestones rather than on any substance which will only give you a momentary high.
6. Be true to yourself- To be honest, the “Me, Myself & I” strategy actually works really well. I mean, we all know that the ambitious path that you and I have picked up is going to be pretty challenging and that there will probably be many occasions where all that we will have will be ourselves, so why be disconnected with the self in the first place? why not be truthful and compassionate to ourselves? Trust me, this mind shift will significantly improve things and help you become phenomenal!
7. Never let off the pressure- Fortunately, I, always had my parents telling me to take all the pressure and make nothing but gold out of it. Therefore, I have grown up like that channelising all the pressure into the right direction and sculpting myself along the way. Though, it took me years to condition myself to optimistically react to even the most pressurising of all situations. In fact, I had to literally go against the common default setting of my brain- of responding pessimistically to any given situation. But, trust me, the view from where I now speak, is astoundingly amazing! So, learn to handle pressure in a positive manner and dig all the possible benefits out of it! Because, “Pressure can bust pipes, but it also can make diamonds.” — Robert Horry
8. Become fearless- Undeniably, fear and anxiety of future consequences are deeply rooted in us. To avoid stressful moments, most people try to get cozy in the boxes, where it’s safe. And, in the box, it will definitely not hurt that bad. But, when you choose to fly high to explore new horizons there is obviously a greater amount of risk involved, so much so that, the fall from there might even kill you. Yet, I would suggest you to keep moving forward and sidelining all your fears. Because, frankly, there is no ceiling and there is no floor. It’s all in our heads.
9. Stop Competing mindlessly- You see, most people invest an enormous portion of their time and resources in mindlessly competing with others. Whether it is a new person on the jogging track or a new start-up offering a product range similar to their company, people feel insecure and thus continuously check-in to see what others in their space (their “competition”) are up to. They would check AngleList, PitchDeck, F6S, LinkedIn, and what not just to make sure nobody else succeeds other than them in terms of both numbers and impact. As a result, they end up mimicking and copying what’s been so far “working.” This is not how anybody should orient their growth because by doing so people unknowingly limit the bright possibilities and moreover they let themselves be pulled away from their zone of authenticity. So, if you too are one such person, I would like to humbly request you to zone out all the external noise and shift focus onto your internal pressure to produce something remarkable.
10. Absorb as much as you can- If you observe well, you will realise that ordinary people majorly seek entertainment while extraordinary people seek opportunities to enrich their minds by absorbing as much as they can from progressive people and challenging processes. And, that’s actually a wonderful way to live life because by repeatedly doing so you in a way spend a lot of your time in preparing yourself for the greatest battle which is approaching in near future. Yes, the greatest battle is yet to take place, else for what purpose are you granted by the divinity to breathe?
11. Work on your mental strength- To be unstoppable and be ever evolving, you need to make sure that you are simultaneously working on your mental strength. Because, “Mental resilience is arguably the most critical trait of a world-class performer, and it should be nurtured continuously. Left to my own devices, I am always looking for ways to become more and more psychologically impregnable. When uncomfortable, my instinct is not to avoid the discomfort but to become at peace with it. My instinct is always to seek out challenges as opposed to avoiding them.” — Josh Waitzkin. That is to suggest, the better you can be under pressure without losing your calm & composure, the higher you’ll go than anyone else. So, undoubtedly, the best training you will ever undertake is mental training.
12. Let your confidence become your greatest asset- We all are filled with an amazing amount of creative potential, but to become fully aware of it and direct it in order to sculpt ourselves into extraordinary individuals, we need rock solid confidence backing our actions. We can all dare to breakthrough and can also reach new heights if only we summon the right amount of confidence at the right time. Literally, all other assets will then start to fall in place once you gain the confidence. And, eventually, the probability of your contacts getting converted into contracts increases tremendously. I believe that running a marathon is far more an exhibition of one's mental strength (confidence) than the physical. So, do the required mental rewiring, gain confidence, and then go raising your performance bar!
13. Opt for simplicity- It’s pretty easy to be complicated; anybody can complicate a simple matter by bringing in a number of perspectives, relevant and irrelevant, into the picture and can completely deviate the focus. In fact, if you observe, most of the research and jargon in academia and business is unnecessarily crafted in a complex order. Well, it isn’t completely our fault because the idea of bringing in all the details and explaining them all in the lengthiest possible manner is forcibly fed to us since our school days, where quantity is rewarded over quality. And, I completely buy Leonardo Da Vinci’s touché take on the matter of simplicity- “Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.” So, to become unstoppable un-complicate your life and lifestyle and start adding value to the society that you live in.
14. Throw away all the envy- Let’s face it, most of us, unfortunately, are envious of one another’s accomplishments. Funny it is that we all know it already, yet we are unable to rise above and beyond this narrow-minded attitude. You see, being jealous of other people’s success actually happens to be one of the most counter-productive activities. You see, when we try to break through complexities just so that we can defeat the other person, we literally crush down our actual purpose and get completely derailed. So, instead of carrying a baggage of what others are up to, keep your mind uncluttered and fly high. And, frankly when you will be focusing on developing yourself than you would simply not feel insecure with other people accomplishing things. Because you would know that you are on your own path of victory.
15. Take the shot- We all get blessed with a number of opportunities. Few of them we grab while most of them we lose, reason being- we often feel too paralyzed with the fear of failure in the face of challenges. But, the ones who have made it big, have actually made it so, undeniably, through a series of big and not-so-big failures. So, to become unstoppable you’ve got to stop thinking about what all can go wrong and shift your focus to what all can go right by taking all the shots and learning through. And, yes, remember “Failure is fuel for success. if you choose so.”- Robin Sharma.
16. Gain Clarity- Having clarity is extremely important in order to perform to the fullest on all fronts of life; personal and professional. To have the clarity you would have to cut through all the chaos and to cut through all the chaos you would have to summon the courage to say no to all the counterproductive work affairs and nonprogressive people. And, once you gain the clarity then who can stop you from constructively striving towards your goals and objectives?
I request you to now Imagine yourself waking up in a cozy countryside cottage of Quebec (a city in Canada which receives approximately 124 inches of snowfall each year) and you feel like going to a downtown bar to enjoy some authentic warm wine with cheese in order to generate some heat prior to your scheduled ice hockey match. But, it has been snowing heavily since a past couple of hours, so much so that the roadways are blocked. What would you then do? Well, you may choose to hop on the bed and sleep back, but had I been in that situation I would’ve rather taken out my thickest overcoat from the cupboard and would’ve sought a way out to clear the snow clutter and drive through to reach my destination (Bar, here). So, you now understand how important clarity is?
17. Do not seek anybody’s permission- Ever since our school days, we are taught to ask respectfully for permissions from people superior to us in terms of knowledge and power, for a number of things, right? However, this behavioral pattern holds relevance until the time we are kids; as we grow mature with a series of unique experiences, we gradually learn how to sail through. Yet, if for paying heed to your “Heart calling” you look out for any sort of approval or support from industry experts, then there is no point at all or perhaps, it is not your actual heart calling. Because, if it was indeed what your heart truly desires to accomplish then you would go forward and make diligent efforts in accordance to actualise your dream(s), regardless of what others may say. So, have clarity and sought your true calling and then without wasting time in asking permissions, forge a way out to make your dream(s) come true.
18. Stay tough- Nothing great was ever achieved with efforts made overnight. It was always a series of die-hard efforts that were put in by dexterous people who were determined to never ever give up. Such achievers refrain from turning their back against the waves; they rather inculcate in themselves the habit of gathering the required amount of courage and facing it all. And, they do all of this by simultaneously becoming their ideal coach who is strict and pushy about maintaining a disciplined and purposeful life. So, if you are all pumped up to become unstoppable` then make sure you become tough with yourself and keep moving forward even when every single fiber of your being tells you to give up.
Having listed and explained all the optimistic alterations which you too could make in your lifestyle and mindset, I would like to now bid adieu by sharing powerfully sublime lyrics of one of my favorite numbers produced by Above & Beyond, an English progressive trance music group.
“Dream on little dreamer
This is how it all begins
Move your feet
Feel how sweet it is
Dream on little dreamer
Follow all of your signs
You gotta gather up what you need
You gotta choose a direction
And when the moment is right for you
You gotta go
You gotta keep your ideals high
You got to know that the sky belongs to no one
You know you got to go.”
