I the river, though I’m weary

I the current, swiftly drawn

Become a seeking, rushing ripple

Lasting... lasting ever on

Nary pausing on my journey

Still united,?may divide

Come the cliff, I travel over

Come the bank, I seek a side

Till at last my destination

I, ?the sea, become the tide

Then drawn upon the air am I

To climb the sun and comb the sky

...

Rage arresting every muscle

Panic rocks the ready bone

Provoke me, then, to hesitation

Still me as the patient stone

Let no malice be my measure

Let no threat be conquered?prize

Pain – a secret quiet treasure

Leaving dust alone to rise

Scattered widely still I linger

Stone is carried by the grain

All sand a shore of ceaseless storing

Core of mountain, ?salt of plain

...

Ancient instinct leaping keen

Each instant longs to burn

The death or life that flow between

The chosen way to turn

Though heavy as the highest alp

Every urge ignites

And seeks to scorch the weighted bough

That’s grown to block the light

Fire, fire, be me then

Send the sudden flame throughout

Leave ash a distant monument

to decimated doubt

...

Ill regret’s the mindful bane - soliloquy of man

To stand on one of either shore, is not to understand

Is but to stand the lesson from

The wisdom won forevermore

In heat I seek the winter chill

In spring the nodding fall

From every life and gifted guide

I seek from one and all

When I’m the river and the stone

The fire and the tree

The beasts and flowers at their feet

All sorrow, final peace

Of every one I’ve borrowed

Still to live a moment more

Turn me to the blowing wind

And lend my soul to soar

Then I, the weakness and the strength,

The vision and the view

All passions first and evermore

Shall lend again to you
