"Rick" has been in law enforcement for 10+ years. However, he wants to leave. Rick wanted a Disaster Preparedness leadership role in the energy industry. But, he wasn't getting any interviews, no matter how often he submitted his resume.
Rick's resume was great..if he wanted to stay in law enforcement. It emphasized his get-the-bad-guy work. But, it wasn't clear that he could lead rapid response teams for large scale disasters. He could.
His resume didn't indicate that he could develop strategies to address various kinds of disasters that were not always criminal (e.g. environmental). He could.
Basically, Rick's resume was tailored towards the jobs he had, not the job he wanted. I revised his resume to translate his accomplishments to disaster preparedness roles.
Rick's had 2 interviews with Firm A, 1 interview with Firm B and an interview scheduled with Firm C.
There's nothing lacking about Rick's experiences. He just needed to have his resume reflect his amazing brand as Disaster Preparedness leader.
