Duties:
Restivo Wealth Management Co. exclusively manages the equity portfolio, the option portfolio, bond portfolio and real estate portfolio of Michael Restivo only.
Education Period: Sept. 1999 – Nov. 2002
School: University of Toronto
Graduated as 4 yr. Honours Bachelor of Arts Degree with a major in Philosophy and a major in Religious Studies.
Education Period: Sept. 1978 ? May 1980
I attended Centennial College of Applied Arts and Technology in Toronto, full time and graduated as an electronic technician in digital electronic technology. At the same time, I obtained additional data processing credits through evening credit course participation to serve as a minor in data processing.
Employment Period: Jul. 2, 2006 – Nov. 2006
Company: Home Depot Canada Inc.
Title: Sales Associate
Duties:
As part of the sales team in the tool rental department, I suggest the right tools for the job for “do it yourself” customers and provide just the requested equipment for contracting professionals. Sometimes I recommend a purchase in lieu of a rental as more cost effective than renting for “do it yourself”, home maintenance and hobbyist applications, depending upon their expressed needs. I open rental agreements with customers and add line sales items where applicable, especially consumables like abrasive sheets, fasteners and cleaning fluids.
At rental completion I close the agreement and enter it into the POS system for payment by credit/debit card, cheque or cash. I present all the paperwork for the customer’s signature and deposit the store paperwork in my cash drawer and closed agreement file respectively. I also accept calls from customers who are seeking equipment to rent and ask if it is in stock or just ask for advice as to the appropriate tool to use. I assist the customer in loading and unloading their rental tool(s) where applicable, such as concrete breakers and floor sanders.
Employment Period: Sept. 1986 ? 1999
Company: Microtronics Co.
Title: Proprietor/Microcomputer Technician
Duties:
I designed a point of sale (POS) retail/restaurant system (local area network) and restaurant management software by which IBM compatible microcomputers can be used as electronic cash register (ECR) terminals and sales and inventory management can be performed, in real?time, at the “back office”. According to my satisfied clients, these products increase efficiencies of operation and deter theft or over portioning of food/beverage. For ten years, I also serviced a small number of loyal accounts for CASIO brand ECR repairs, programming and paper rolls/ink ribbons supplies with such timely response as to minimize downtime. In addition, I worked for six years as the sole microcomputer field service technician for Microcell Systems Ltd., applying my own cellular phone as the linchpin of rapid response on-site service. My field and bench service experience is at the board and mechanical sub-assembly level with Hewlett-Packard, Sharp, Panasonic and Nec Silentwriter laser and LED printers.
Employment Period: Oct. 1985 ? Sept. 1986
Company: Cash Register Supplies Ltd.,
Title: Technical Service Representative
Duties:
I repaired, with under 1 hour response time, and programmed ECR’s at the customers’ site and/or in the company shop, to the component level. Where possible I provided courtesy units to keep customers? operations running smoothly. Additionally, I installed new ECR systems and cabling and provided phone?line/on?site customer training. Customers appreciated that my reliable and informative expertise was only a free phone call away.
Employment Period: Aug. 1984 ? Oct. 1985
Company: Casio?Mobex?Irwin Ltd.
Title: Electronic Cash Register/Microcomputer Service Technician
Duties:
I acted as the sole technical specialist for the ECR and Point of Sale division of Casio?Mobex?Irwin Ltd., under the national service manager of Irwin Toys Ltd. I was also the product trainer for CASIO ECR dealer/servicers at the Toronto office. I continued with my previous duties as described later. The company was pleased that my service department was consistently ranked high both in customer and reseller satisfaction, but also in efficiencies of operation. Solely responsible for parts ordering, I applied my hands-on and computerized inventory control methods to good effect. When the company lost almost half of its dealer base, it was particularly appreciative that my dealer support efforts, including notes and advice, served to prevent forfeiture of the CASIO distributorship.
Employment Period: June 1982 ? Aug. 1984
Company: Casio?Mobex Ltd.
Title: National Service Manager, all divisions
Duties:
I repaired printed circuit digital logic boards to the component level, modified logic boards per factory specifications, and instituted additional revisions to the logic boards as required to enhance product features or overcome design inadequacies. I performed printer and ECR repairs requiring excellent mechanical/visual skills, including micro?soldering surface mount very large scale integrated circuits using techniques of my own design which I taught to the dealer base for their benefit. I managed the ECR parts and technical/programming manuals inventory and had purchasing authority to maintain proper inventory levels. As a trusted employee, I possessed keys to both buildings and was responsible for setting the alarm system and was one of the two key men to be notified in case of intruder alert.
Employment Period: May 1980 ? June 1982
Company: Victor (Canada) Ltd.
Title: Technical Service Representative
Duties:
I repaired electronic calculators, electronic cash registers, and sold business equipment ribbons and paper rolls, all at the customers’ sites. I performed repairs, to the component level, at the Toronto office. Finally, I programmed ECR’s on site, in the company shop, and via telephone for customers.
