Resume Maintenance *

This week I spent some time talking about Resume maintenance. It's definitely not a ton of fun updating however surely we take time to maintain other areas of our life. It's often that we find ourselves last minute scrambling to cobble the darn thing together completely failing to remember that we aced that presentation, exceeded our revenue targets or simply stayed late and were recognized for being a team player.

That said, my tips are as follows:

Schedule it! That's right. You know how you never leave your dentist office without booking your next six month appointment. Do that with your resume. Only schedule it on the diary for every quarter. Your accomplishments will be fresh. You may have added on new projects, skills, courses, relevant speaking engagements or attended that buzzy cool conference.

Make it human. Yes AI is real and your resume will surely be viewed with a key word lens but once it's passed through that gate the recruiter/hiring manager will be assessing YOU! I personally add in a bit about my passion for travel and books.

#resume #smartmaintenance #workhuman
