RESUME DIAGNOSTIC: Could this even be the issue?

RESUME DIAGNOSTIC: Could this even be the issue?

Feeling stuck? Is your job search seem to be in a deep freeze? Let's run a quick diagnostic:

- Apply for at least 8-10 jobs weekly with zero response rate

- Receive multiple automated "no thanks" emails after applying

- Using the same resume for every application, regardless of the job

- Resume includes photos, graphics/info graphics, bar graphs to measure skill level, more than 2 colored fonts, multiple font styles or sizes, etc.

- Resume is longer than 2 pages for non federal jobs

- No dates on work history

- Resume is task-oriented, mostly bullet points, uses the personal pronoun "I" or the term "responsible for"

Any one of these things can mean your resume could use a review and/or redesign.

I have been interviewing for sales positions the last 2 weeks and even professionals with years of experience have forgotten such a crucial step to their job search - a message after you submit your resume! I'm curious if its just me who finds this approach really sets candidates apart? In particular for sales candidates but pleasantly surprising when its technical or other fields.
