Is Resume Database Screening Blocking Your Resume? Or Is It Something Else?

Nearly 2/3 of all job seekers list getting past resume screening databases?as their #1 search problem.

And it's frustrating applying to jobs when you're qualified, only to get no response. It's feels like you're sending resumes into the wind.

But what it it's something else other than?Applicant Tracking Systems?

Here are 4 ways your?resume?is getting blocked, other than being blocked by the?ATS:

1. Rejection By HR Rep/Recruiter:?During competitive job markets like we see today in The Great Resignation, employers get many times more qualified resumes then available interview spots. Your resume could get through an ATS, but most are still rejected during manual screening. Reasons include unclear/general first impression, resume that appears average, resume showing risks of hiring you, resume doesn't quickly show you're a match, resume that fails to make you seem like a fit.
2. Rejection By Hiring Manager:?Hiring managers get far more pre-screened and qualified resumes than available interview spots, and usually interview less than 15% of resumes sthat get through Applicant Tracking Systems. If your resume doesn't quickly show that you meet their needs, why should they interview you? If your resume portrays you as average, they can find better candidates.
3. Non Compliant Resumes:?If you're not getting interviews, it could be the way you've formatted your resume document. Many resume formats are not easily readable by Applicant Tracking Systems, and get rejected before they're even entered into the ATS. Interestingly, many certified professional resume writers, high volume "resume mills", job board resume services, career coaches and outplacement firms use resume formats that often get rejected.
4. Resume Document File Type:?ATSs reject certain resume file formats, so they aren't entered into the ATS. In addition, if you aren't sending your resume in the default file format of the employer's specific Applicant Tracking System, it can cause delays and translation errors that get your resume rejected.
