Resume & CV are not the same!

Hey Guys,

Zara from WiseOwl Edu here,

Did you know CV & Resume are different?

Although a resume can cover almost any information you want to share with a potential employer, it is still a selection of words in the form of an essay. However, as opposed to a CV or Curriculum Vitae (CV), you can use your resume to highlight specific achievements relevant to the job you're applying for. Your resume should demonstrate why you're the best person for the job and how your experience will help the company improve its performance. The key difference between resumes and CVs is the format of information each conveys. A CV contains detailed information about education, work experience, and skills that lets employers know where each candidate stands regarding his professional background.

Here are the 3 differences between a CV & Resume

#1 Length: A CV (curriculum vitae) is typically longer and more detailed than a resume. A CV includes a comprehensive list of your education, work experience, publications, research, awards, and other professional accomplishments,?

while a resume is a shorter summary of your most relevant qualifications.

#2 Purpose: A CV is typically used when applying for academic or research positions, while a resume is used for most other job applications.

?CVs tend to have a more complete and detailed picture of the candidate's career history, education, and achievements.

#3 Format: CVs are usually formatted in reverse-chronological order, starting with the most recent experience or education, while resumes can be formatted in various ways, including reverse-chronological, functional, and combination formats. Resumes are more flexible in terms of design, CV's tend to be more standardized in format and layout.
