The Results Are In: Start@ETS Pitch Competition Winners Announced!

We are thrilled to announce the winners of this year’s Start@ETS competition, held in person at Geekdom in San Antonio, TX, on October 3rd! The level of innovation and creativity from each of the finalists was remarkable, making the judges' decision a tough one. After thoughtful consideration and discussion, we are excited to reveal the winners:

Congratulations to GridWrap for taking home the top prize of Start@ETS 2024. This woman-owned cleantech company, led by Talieh and Davoud, pioneered patented Composite WiRe Wrap and BullWrap? technologies. These advanced materials fortify and strengthen electrical grid infrastructure, doubling power transmission capacity without requiring downtime. Their solutions address the urgent need to restore aging grid infrastructure safely, reliably, and cost-effectively, all while supporting 100% renewable energy goals. GridWrap’s pitch stood out for how ready and applicable their technologies are for immediate implementation, which captured the attention of our judges.

Edo’s pitch centered around addressing the urgent crises of climate change, affordability, and energy equity. Their vision is to unite commercial building operators and utilities through enhanced building data, enabling operational efficiency and peak load management. By transforming commercial buildings into reliable grid assets, Edo empowers utilities to optimize energy consumption and create a more decarbonized, cleaner grid. Edo’s solutions impressed our judges with their ability to enhance collaboration between utilities and the commercial building sector for cleaner, more reliable electricity.
