Restorative Reminder - 1/27/2021
Today's Restorative Reminder is a video clip from a training where I give perspective about how we unconsciously put many of our teachers and students in a very precarious position. Often, we expect teachers to intrinsically know how to manage their classrooms and build relationships with their students. While there are teachers who figure it out, it is unfair to vilify those who don't, without teaching them how to do so. This unfair expectation of intrinsically knowing how to behave at school often also extends to our students. Teachers and students account for the two largest groups on every campus so it's imperative that we proactively and reactively teach them the behavior they need to be successful in our schools.

3 年I agree with Kelvin. Beginning teachers are expected to manage classrooms with very little guidance both during the study phase and on the job.
