She believed that her life had to be lived on a treadmill and she was getting pretty tired. Her life was one action item at a time from getting the kids off to school to rushing to work to blowing a kiss to her husband as he rushed out the door without breakfast. Rush, rush, rush.

Then to get herself dressed to face a presentation at work that she hardly had time to prepare. She always felt the pressure to be better than her male colleagues and felt that she was held to higher standards as a woman. She felt she was never good enough. She had great ideas but refrained from sharing them for all the politics that kept the old boy network's ideas in place. Inside herself, she felt frustrated and could feel her blood pressure rise with the amount of work she was expected to turn out. She wanted a seat at the C-level table so she worked and worked and worked. And she waited and waited, and waited.

Her doctor told her to slow down, meditate and relax more, but did he know her schedule? She would smile politely as he warned her about her weight gain and lack of self-care.

She hardly had time to find people to pick up the kids and was guilt-ridden when she didn't attend their ballet classes or soccer games. Her relationship with her husband, especially their intimate moments, were few and far between. She hardly knew him anymore except for their schedule with the kids. She hardly had time to connect with her kids, feeling them slipping away into the world of social media and the snarkiness of today's popular culture.

One day, as she took a bathroom break just to compose herself after a long, boring meeting, she had a moment of clarity. "What has happened to me, the woman with all the dreams of creating something special in this world? What happened to me? I got lost. I am lost. How do I find myself again? Who am I?

After that moment of clarity, she began to seek a more spiritual path and realized that she had abandoned her true self for success in the world and before she knew it, poof, 20 years had gone by. She had turned into an outer-driven robot, doing it as society said life should be but rarely connected to her heart, soul, or intuitive wisdom. She had felt the lifeblood draining out from her every day so that day she decided to commit to finding herself again. That was the day she realized that her "true heart" had stopped beating and only she could start it again.

She took the 10" journey from her head to her heart by learning about herself and her personal power, enthusiasm and joy returned. Life changed from black and white to radiant color and her family, friends and even her work colleagues began to see her in a new way and opened the doors, it seemed magical, to her ideas, her creativity, and infectious laughter as she continued to depend on her inner insights and wisdom. The promotion she had sought by her driven work ethic came to her with ease one day as she relaxed and let life happen in the magic of the moment.
