Ever felt like something in your life is off, but you can't quite put your finger on it? You're not alone.
Let's explore the signs that indicate you might be ready for a change and how to recognize when it's time to embrace transformation.
Recognizing When You’re Ready: Signs to Look For
As you may suspect, there are many signs that show you are ready for change.
For some odd reason, you don’t feel motivated anymore.
You don’t feel as if you have a goal or a specific goal in mind to work toward.
Or, for some of you, it seems as if everyone around you is going through a change, and you yearn to be doing the same thing.
Or perhaps you’ve had it. You’re just sick and tired of being sick and tired.
That was me. When I noticed that I had chosen to stay in my depressed state of unmotivated, it was as if I just woke up one day and decided I was over it all. I just chose to be someone different.
All these signs say you are ready for what’s next.
Today, I want to begin the series on three key signs that indicate you may be ready for a change.
1. Restlessness:
Restlessness is often the first sign that something in your life is shifting. You might find yourself feeling a bit antsy or discontent without fully understanding why.
This might manifest as difficulty concentrating on your current tasks, feeling a sense of boredom or dissatisfaction with your routine, or even experiencing physical symptoms like fidgeting or restlessness at night – not being able to sleep soundly or sleep for very long.
You know on a fundamental level that life is meant to be enjoyed, experienced, and truly loved, and just paying the bills and getting by each month is slowly killing your creative and adventurous soul.
You dream of the day you can finally do what you love and live your life purpose, and you are no longer willing to survive. Your gut and soul are telling you it’s your time to thrive.
Your Internal dialogue:
According to many surveys, 60% to 75% of individuals who made significant career changes reported feeling restless or dissatisfied in their previous roles before making the switch.
This has been very common for many of my clients, and why they seek me out to work with me.
Let’s take Beth, not her real name, a successful professional who is easily climbing the career ladder. On the outside, to everyone, her life looks picture-perfect. Yet, internally, Beth can’t shake that feeling of being off, which eats at her.
She feels like she’s in a deep, dark hole with no way out. She’s constantly finding herself questioning if what she is doing is what she truly wants to be doing.
You see, she was missing a sense of purpose.
Purpose is that key element in anything we do that gives us a reason to continue. If you lack purpose, you lack motivation. And, without motivation, you’re not living life to the fullest.
More than likely, you’re missing many of the opportunities around you that can bring you happiness, joy, and purpose.
Betha and I worked together to uncover her long-held dreams; now, she has this new sense of purpose. She’s rocking it!
What about you? Is this one of your signs for what’s next?
