Rest...
With the festive season upon us some businesses will be winding down while others will be charging full steam ahead.
The idea of taking a break from work for those who own their own businesses or those who have enough passion for their job to fuel a jumbo jet just doesn't seem plausible. However taking a break, whether it be for a day or a few weeks has incredibly long term benefits.
Working seven days a week has its pros, mostly for the business. The cons are for the individuals who run the risk of burning out. Holding onto stress does not help anyone in the long term. It has been proven taking at least a day refreshes the mind and relaxes the body. However, from personal experience, it’s easier said than done. That yearning for recognition and achievement fuels the inner fire to continue to work incredible hours. As a business owner I can relate to this but sometimes we need to take a step back. Even if it’s just for a day. Entrepreneur contributor Jeff Shore says ‘Long-term success and sustained creativity is completely dependent on taking regular time off from work.’ To benefit your long term success take the time, be with your family and in turn you will come back refreshed ready to conquer 2015.
2014 has been a great year filled with many opportunities. There have been many innovative improvements across countless industries. I have enjoyed seeing the success of my colleagues and clients. With the lessons and achievements of 2014, I can proudly say that I am ready to embrace 2015 with my team.
