All our life since birth and until death what we strived for is "Peace" and still do, and lucky are those who find it in a short span of life. But doesn't the definition of peace differs for each one of us, as our paths differ, way of living differs and also approach to life differs?
As a child, having our favourite toy, mother's lap and grandparents lullaby was peace, as a teenager having a great bunch of friends and all applauds from the teacher was peace and now as adults, peace is still undefined and so we hope towards the end of life we may find one.
And the peace after the end is destiny and not conquered. Even after one attaining death, his near ones pray for his peace and its daunting that how essential peace is for the ones alive and dead. Is peace so worthy and so rare? Can not even death lead one to peace?
Ages ago, saints could attain enlightenment in a mere life and now with the age today even after giving entire life, having run several marathons, we still have no peace to heart and mind. As the answer lies in it, we are hunting peace and not practising peace.
'Peace is a way of living, in lifetime, not attaining after death'. Why not centre ourselves and sink in our own energy, like we believe happens after death. A soul leaves the body, it travels and then gets submerged into stronger energy, which is spiritual, strengthening and pleasing. A simple attempt to experience it in life in hand can help us to travel the untravelled path. Having lived by for others is peaceful but giving justice to thyself is peace attained. Selfless service is peaceful but serving one's own soul is strengthening. If one can stop hunting and start living by peace, it can be attained and our lives will be enlightened. One promise made that we will take charge for ourself, we will control and own our space, we won't wait to die but we will live to call off death, and let death know that we have lived it, made it and attained the peace. Let our near ones say that we lived a peaceful life and so our after death maths can be unsolved as surpassing the good and worst we made our way to "peace".
Peace is not just a concept but the ulterior motive with one is born and alive. After death is a myth, peace is life and no matter how hard it is, it should be peace at the end. In one lifetime, one effort for oneself is truly worthy. Let not charge others for our deeds but take responsibility for it and change it. Life can be harsh, death can be peaceful, but still remember death is the path untravelled, so live in a moment and own your "peace".
"Live in peace and not in pieces", hunt your happiness and satisfaction and live it now and here, as death and peace after death is still an unresolved mystery.

4 年Very well written We seek peace thinking it is a sort of success, and we keep on desiring for it. But freedom from our desires escorts us to inner peace; and without inner peace how are we going to get outer peace. While searching for peace we overlook that it is in our every step, it's in our smile, it's in our day to day routine. The only thing we lack is, 'To stop and feel PEACE'.

4 年Nice article Pratiksha... What I believe, peace is a life full of self happiness and fullfillment . .. and it should not depend on external factors..more you practice peace internally, more happier and peaceful your external outcomes will be.
