Responsible Export Organization -Certification by CII & IRCLASS

In response to the growing export demand, Confederation of Indian Industry - CII and IRCLASS introduces a certification scheme called ‘Responsible Export Organization’.

Objective:

• To recognize and certify organizations in India engaged in exports or planning to export as ‘Responsible Export Organization’, who meet the criteria based on their assessment on criteria parameters
• To provide a structured feedback to the assessed organization for improvement in the organizational excellence journey

Benefits:

• The Responsible Export Organization scheme will help global customers to identify suppliers who can demonstrate compliance and maturity for exports, thus enhancing their confidence
• List of organization's certified for Responsible Export Scheme will be published on CII website
• These organizations will be promoted through CII overseas offices, Indian Missions, Export Promotion Council, Department of Commerce etc
• Inquiries from different countries will be directed to certified organization as 1st preference
• Financial Benefits are being worked out for certified organizations and will be announced once the same are approved
• EXIM Bank has principally agreed to support the scheme

Background

?An organization’s capability and commitment to produce and supply high quality products consistently, as well as compliance to regulatory requirements are considered as the minimum expectations of the customers in foreign markets. Additionally, in the backdrop of the Sustainable Development Goals, an organization’s commitment to aspects such as governance, sustainable growth, environmental and societal aspects have acquired greater significance for engaging in cross border businesses. Indian exporting organizations will be able to demonstrate their credentials on both perspectives by getting certified as ‘Responsible Export Organization’.

 Model:

Based on the time-tested business excellence models, the scheme is based on a comprehensive assessment of the organization’s systems for governance, management, operations and consistency in delivering results through a maturity model anchored on 10 critical elements covering practices and performance. The assessment uses simplified, cost effective, easy to practice criteria & evaluation processes to enable wide participation from existing and potential export organizations. Scoring will be done by CII against each of the 10 elements. Organizations who clear the minimum qualifying criteria will be certified as ‘Responsible Export Organization’ and would be authorized to use CII logo during the validity of the certificate.
