“Today alone, I have had two potential clients reach out to me, asking for assistance on their hiring.

With the new mandate that employees should return to the office everyday for most companies, attrition has taken an odd turn. These potential clients are coming from organizations that offer above market salary and benefits.

?It makes me think, what new and innovative strategies will companies offer to manage attrition moving forward, or is that even going to be an option for them at all? And how are their competitors going to take advantage of this situation?”?

As Migs stated, it is being observed that employees in Southeast Asia Region are resigning from the workforce as a result of the back-to-the-office mandate enforced this week.

In collaboration with Econsultancy, Adobe recently released their 2022 trend report focusing on the Asia-Pacific Region and how the scale and momentum of digital trends, including changes in the work-from-home requirements, are cementing shifts in employee behavior and needs.

As experts in recruitment, we want to share some opportunities for your business that will embrace an agile mindset, collaboration and improve time-to-value ratios.

The Problem

There has been a significant flow on effect of outdated working practices, combined with a growing employee expectation in the new world of hybrid and remote work, that has noticeably limited the industries access to new skills and capabilities. The consequences of these skill shortages, along with an increased number of resignations, have been the most prominent in the APAC region compared to any other market.

explores the forces, trends and technologies that
business leaders need to consider when crafting their
strategies to be better positioned to succeed.” 2022 Digital Trends APAC in Focus, Adobe

So how can your business become more agile in the face of change and overcome these significant barriers to success?

The Solution

The 2022 survey revealed unique perspectives on how industries can adapt to the new and changing ways of work. APAC organizations are said to be focused on empowering staff, staying ahead of change and balancing regulation and innovation to combat changes.?

?“In 2022, change will continue to be front and
centre in business. 85% of APAC senior executives
expect the pace of change experienced in 2020
and 2021 to persist for the foreseeable future.”

?A Forbes article published by Edward Segal (Leadership Strategist), suggests that the response to the ‘Great Resignation’ across the globe should mimic that of the benefits produced by the work-from-home model.

This includes lifestyle incentives, financial incentives and a model that rewards productivity. Overall, flexibility should take center stage as priorities of employees shift and work-life balance becomes more important than ever.

Where these incentives and changes in flexibility aren't practical for businesses, there must at least be an increase in the level of empathy organizations give to their employees. Empathy shown to employees will not only retain staff, but it will also attract the highest level of talent in the market.

“Taking the time to understand—and empathize —with a worker's conditions within your organization, with their individual struggles, desires and values will be the key to your success.” Edward Segal–Crisis Management Expert
