RESPONDING THIS THOUGHT PROVOCKING PICTURE...

Dear,?Linas Beliūnas ?, once again, thanks for provocking me to think and write about my thoughts.

Looking backwards in the past centuries, not only the past decades, I was coming to some little reflections that I will try to expose in this article.

First of all, to become the programmers we are today, we were first needing to get programmed ourselves.

Then, we were needing about 300 years of progresive wide alphabetization of numerous human communities to rise up from Natural and Presential Communication into Digital and Virtual Exchange of Information.


Considering each human being as a real time 3D procesor of BIO, LOGO and GENETIC information, we were needing to train ourselves to be able to storage the biggest possible amount of useful, interesting and inspiring informations as that was the only option to have dynamic and constant access to those informative pieces and become able to generate out of them compiled results.


My favourite example of this "modus operandi" in a human mind is Herr Gottfried W. Leibniz, who had a little Self_Google inside and depicted clearly what the human genie and imagination can extract and create out of the logical and intentional compilation of multiple informations proceeding from diverse sources and origins (as Royal Librarian of Low Saxony, Leibniz had direct access to an amazing collection of written works that less people in his contemporary times could at all even imagine as a factible possibility).


At that time and from that time till now, we humans, were admiring the capacity of storaging+compiling minds where, the biggest capacity of the brain was used as ROM Memory from which, the rest of the active mind could work in #RAMmode.


But Leibniz can not at all be considered as an average model. He was singularly brilliant and there are only some other few personalities that could at all find, able to emule his incredible mind.


What teachers were doing at schools was simply ensure that kids were adquiring reading and writing capacity, some basic Arithmetical and Accounting ability and of course, a number of common beliefs, common perspectives on the history of their ancestors, respect for their government and institutions and in the end, go through appropiate and effective years of social training that enable them to play as correct civil servants, contributive workers and devoted tax payers of their societies.


Then, Almighty Time took us to the Google Era and we started to be able to navegate oceans of digitally codified and storaged informations (most of them pure rubbish, causing indeed increasing levels of Noise and Infoxication) untill we found out that the most important thing to get done was to become effective librarians (like Leibniz) knowing where and how to find the right info at the shortest time with the lowest effort, at that point we started to talk about entering the Semantic Era.


All at the same time, the digitalization took us to enter the Audiovisual Era and we (our young people and kids specially) are now realizing that Natural Learning (with all senses and through emotional impacts) is much faster and easier than "ROM Style" learning.


To finish this thread of reflections, I want to remind you about a little but very important list of concurring facts:


1. Collective beliefs are the most difficult to remove or be changed and nowadays, most adults still believe that using the brain as information storage place is what ensures High Level Education for their kids as it was happening in the time of their childhood.


2. We are very far away from remembering the true meaning of the word "education". We call Education to the Scholar Training Experience but Education is a Social Fact existing for every living species (not only humans) and the word comes originally from Latin verb, "educare" which exact meaning is: "Training of Curiosity"


3. Need and Necesity have normally been the main motors of every learning mind. After those two motivating facts, the next strongest motors are Curiosity and Passion. As you and we all can see, nowadays, learning of mandatory contents is being enforced although, many of them are not at all necesarily related with any of those four main mentioned natural motors, unless, of course, if we consider the need of adapt to the society in which we grow up and show obedience to the rules given by the collectivities and communities we are living within, as a need that no individual can avoid to have. Curiosity is not really welcome in a society of believers and knowers, rather that reseachers and explorers. Passion is restricted and limited to fit into the average patterns of each social sphere so that individuals can easily belong to their social uniforms. Remember that schools were also a place to train people to go under uniformation, and scholars were and are still using uniforms as well as any other servant of any other army or team of civil service.

4. The process I am talking about applies only for Western peoples and lately (last 50 to 70 years) for a big proportion of Asian and Latinamerican peoples too, as human populations have not been mandatorily brought into schools untill the 20th century. So when we look backwards only one hundred years ago, most humans were not still able to read and write and had almost no access to books or if at all, very limited access, implying very limited variety of contents too.

5. A huge amount of humans nowadays are still not fully alphabetized and billions of us, humans, do still learn under the natural model based on Oral tradition, "learning by doing or by trying to do" and of course, impulsed by true needs, collective necesities and personal curiosity and passion, as it was happening throughout the Human History with the exception of this last two centuries since the demographical BANG was clearly becoming exponential. Many of these still not fully alphabetized humans, will most probably pass directly from using their brains in Oral #RAMmode into virtual #AUDIOvisual RAMmode without going through any process of training of their minds to play as ROM Storage Units. Having Saint Google with us, such an effort would be like trying a useless flashback just to make sure that nobody scapes theprocess of global uniformation of the human mind. Fortunately, the existing unsolidarity with the billions of humans that are not having access to our "marvellous" institutional educative models, methodologies and systems will keep this proportion of natural humans protected from suffering the uniformation process that all others have already completed.

6. As soon as we recall the true meaning of the word EDUCATION, we will stop talking as SCHOLAR TRAINING METHODOLOGIES would be the main issue to look after in terms of caring for Social Education. If we want our kids to be properly educated to face the challenges of their era, we should first become a educative environment for them to grow within. And that, will require us to reappreciate Curiosity, Passion and Need as the main motors of the civilian evolution of our societies.

7. The absurdity of our present times will help. Reality and Absurdity can not love each other for long relationship. They can only flirt and date in casual forms. So, do not worry. Simply trust the process and let′s have fun as coplayers!
