Respite Carers Website
Families Affected by Autism has launched a beta website to help people with disabled children who need respite carers find them and also for respite carers to easily find more work.
We live in London and it is really hard to find carers, as with many jobs in London the carers tend to be fairly short term as they are usually between jobs, in gap years, get pregnant, go back to uni etc etc. All good and well but it can prove tricky at times. One year we lost all 4 carers within 6 weeks. To over come this problem we have built a website which is currently still in the development phase the idea is that you can quickly and easily find carers and they can find you. Click here to see our beta website Respite Carers
It is not yet live but we would like to get the feedback from both care providers and those who use carers so we can make any required changes before launching the live version. Initially we will keep this very local focussed but if you are interested in helping spread the word in your area then please let us know.
Please help us by signing up and posting some details and letting us know what works well and what's not so good.
Any feedback good or bad would be greatfully recieved.

7 年A fabulous idea - I know that finding respite care is a real headache for parents. As a school, we are constantly being asked by social workers, LDN's etc, if our staff will be willing to provide respite. What would you do with regards to safeguarding/dbs/training?
