Respectful interaction among colleagues - an important success factor

In purely mathematical terms, we spend about half of our time at work in a normal working week. And many of us have colleagues, bosses or employees with whom they spend a considerable amount of this time. Moreover, in many departments and companies it is common practice to share at least the lunch break as well. If we add carpooling to the lunch break and back, plus maybe the collective beer after work, it can be more than ten hours in one working day.

Sometimes we see our colleagues longer and more intensively than friends or even our own family. It is therefore hardly surprising that the feeling of well-being among colleagues is an essential factor for job satisfaction. And "recognition for the work done" ideally exists not only from top to bottom, but also between colleagues and from the employees to the bosses. A respectful and appreciative way of dealing with each other is the basis for good cooperation. This applies in principle and across all hierarchical levels.

The bottom line is that it is particularly worthwhile for both employees and employers to work to ensure that all employees are happy:  Happy employees earn more, have better career opportunities, deliver higher quality, make fewer mistakes and work more productively and with greater commitment.
