Resources for TA Job Seekers
Mikey Weil
has just started his new role as Senior Strategic Sourcer, Talent Acquisition at BCH!
Every time I log onto LinkedIn, I see another person in Talent Acquisition has lost their job. The same people who are responsible for hiring so many valuable people to help an organization grow are now being let go to find something new.
I know what this is like, as I lost my job at the beginning of the pandemic. I had a child on the way, I had just quit smoking cigarettes, my therapist had just finished their program and left, I moved across the country, and I made a rap song to get my resume out there when nothing else was working. But there is more about that in my other articles and here!
Over the last few years, I have been posting daily(ish) tips and tricks here for job seekers and talent acquisition professionals. Recently, I compiled all of the job seeker tips and tricks into one article you can find here!
But enough about me! I have a few friends and connections with whom I have been sending job postings along with our resources. As I have been doing this, I have been collecting a bunch of resources and advice from other professionals. And that is what you will find below.
Follow these people, apply for jobs, and join the layoff lists. I will keep adding to this and sharing it. One thing to note, some links might no longer be active by the time you click on them. I will try to keep updated.
This document might be a little messy. I'm going to focus less on organization and grouping of the information and just getting out as much information as possible to help.
Lastly, if you know of any other good resources, or you are a good resource, let me know and I will add it to this list.
Greg Gawkes is one of the top names in Sourcing. He runs a great Youtube/TikTok channel called IRL. Check him out, follow him, and use his piece of advice below in your job search!
Greg Hawkes - Hey?#JobSeekers, here's a?#jobsearch?#jobtip?to help you in case you are looking for?#jobs?#jobhiring?#careers?or have been affected by the?#FAANG?#layoffs?at?Twitter?Facebook?Amazon?Amazon Web Services (AWS). Look at the?#jobs?#recruiters?#managers?are?#hiring?on their?#opentohire?page, here's mine for example. If you see the?#hire?graphic on a Linkedin profile, dig a bit deeper!

Jung Kim is another great person to follow in the TA world. Follow him and keep checking his feed as he shares his own great advice, shares great advice of others, and the comments he makes on others' posts can be super useful, as well. Here is one great piece of advice:
Here's the search query they can copy/paste into a google alert and refine as they see fit.
intitle:virtual | intitle:remote | intitle:anywhere | intitle:work.at.home | intitle:work.from.home | intitle:wfh intitle:"recruiter" | intitle:"sourcer" | intitle:"talent acquisition" | intitle:"talent partner" intitle:job | intitle:jobs | intitle:career | intitle:careers | "apply now" | "add to job" | "save this job" | "email|text this job"

Here is another great tip from Jung:
#Jobseeker?tip of the day: below, you'll find a search query that you can copy/paste into LinkedIn's search bar, click on the People tab and you'll find approximately 110 people (there will be some false positive results) who, in some shape or form are open to providing a referral.
You can then check the company's career page and share the job posting link with the referrer so that you can be referred accordingly.
("need of referral" OR "need of a referral" OR "if you need a referral" OR "if you need referral")

Yet another good tip from Jung:
#Jobsearch?#knowledge?impartation tip of the day: You can use?#Twitter?to find?#recruitment?related job opportunities. There will be some false positive results, but the sample search query you can use is (see below)
(remote OR virtual OR "work from home" OR wfh OR "work at home") (job OR jobs OR hire OR hiring OR career OR careers OR seeking OR looking) (recruiter OR "talent acquisition" OR sourcer OR "talent partner")
After you run the search query, click on the Latest tab to retrieve the latest?#tweets?in ascending order.

"Set it & forget it" doesn't work on LinkedIn. It just leaves you forgotten.
Post but more importantly, comment.
