The Resources Industry Has Many Untold Stories

If you are a resources industry insider, wherever you are, you know the industry has many hidden uncomfortable legacies. Let me say some of them:

  1. It tries to tell that it is a masculine industry ( whatever that means ! ) . It's people will always tell you, "It is not for the weakhearted and only for men.". Little do many of them understand that it has changed in the last few decades. Women are steadily taking their places.
  2. Another highly irritating thing is speaking in an objectionably loud voice with expletives to make a point. This culture of communication is still prevalent.
  3. "We do not care much for privacy." Why will one not care about privacy? Do not ask a question!
  4. "We love working long hours on the job." Why? If you can complete the job in time, see that you can, just go home to your family and spend time with them.
  5. "We do not care much for our housing". We are okay with whatever dark and dirty things are given to us. "In our time, we used to be packed in a dingy room with nothing to speak of a toilet." Were we poor? No. Only we did not know our priorities.
  6. " Our only entertainment is booze and parties". Who cares about knowledge and discussion?

I am pretty sure you know many of these stereotypes about the resource industry, which comprises mines, mining, oil, and gas fields all over the world.

Why don't you write your own story confronting such stereotypes and submit it to https://www.informaticsjournals.com/index.php/2meoga
