Resources for Inclusive Leadership and Difficult Conversations

It's hard to believe that it is already mid-November! It has been a very busy month. Most recently I spoke about #RadicalEmpathy and #inclusiveleadership at the The Chronicle of Higher Education 's in-person leadership forum on reconnecting the campus, sponsored by Adobe . It was a fabulous event where we discussed a variety of topics from some great speakers including Goldie Blumenstyk , Chris Howard , Dr. Bridget Burns and Jeff Selingo with a great panel of students. It was a great way to reconnect in-person and start thinking about new approaches to #campusinnovation as we work towards living with #COVID . Thanks to Ian Wilhelm for the invitation.

Holidays are coming and we may need Radical Empathy more than ever as we engage with family members, sometimes after a long period of being apart due to COVID. Radical empathy calls for us to be understanding, but remember that empathy is not absolution, as my friend Greg Satell always reminds me. If you need tips on handling those difficult conversations, check out my reading guide that includes resources for Effective Strategies for Confronting Racism in Conversation (page 14).

We're also coming?to the end of the fiscal year for many organisations, if you have 2022 training Dollars remaining or you want to budget a training?for 2023 for yourself, team, or organisation, consider booking a radical empathy course. Check out my website or contact me to discuss Radical Empathy training opportunities.

Are you looking for a speaker for your event(s) around MLK Day, Black History Month, or International Day of Women and Girls in Science? My schedule has limited availability for January/February 2023. Contact me for speaking opportunities ASAP!?

From HBR "Today’s Leaders Need Vulnerability, Not Bravado "

?the most effective leaders are the ones who are willing to show their vulnerabilities?— who can admit to themselves and others when they are wrong and what they know and don’t know.

Watch Terri discuss inclusive leadership at her recent talk for Notre Dame de Namur University 's Women in Leadership series . They have a great line-up of speakers that you can attend in-person or virtually. Check it out!

Lots of great events coming up, and I'm very pleased to be giving the Medical Library Association 's 2023 John P. McGovern Lecture in May.
