I completely agree with the importance of advocating to end corporal punishment against children and supporting efforts to achieve and implement law reform to prohibit violent forms of punishment. It is concerning that only 14 percent of children globally are fully protected from corporal punishment by law, and we must work towards ensuring that all children are protected from such violence. It is great to see @FutureLeaders Initiative SL taking a multifaceted approach to address the issue of Violence Against Children, particularly corporal punishment. Our ongoing project, Empowering Communities Steps to Dignity, is a promising initiative that will help to change cultural and societal norms about hitting children. Empowering communities to promote positive parenting practices and to raise awareness about the harmful effects of corporal punishment is an important step towards ensuring that all children can grow up in a safe and nurturing environment. By promoting dignity and respect for children, we can help to create a world where all children are protected from violence and abuse.
